Douglas Adams had the inside track on this.
In Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy he posited a switch on an advanced one-of-a-kind starship that had a sign that read, "Do not touch this switch."
When the protagonist of the story flipped the switch a little screen activated. It read, "Do not touch this switch again."
