So apparently Ford does not prioritize orders by date of order after all? Seems to be more of a lotto-style method based on the 3 or so people who've received their VINs so far.

Doesn't it also depend on dealer allotment? Dealers get theirs at different times right? I wouldn't think the dealers order could be pulled before their allotment, or does that only apply to non-ordered vehicles?

I know next to nothing about this, so I could be way off, but it seems to me there must be multiple parts to the equation:

  • Options/Build
  • Dealer
  • Date of Order
  • Lots of other crap I can't think of :waytogo:

I feel the same way when talking about contrasting colors. I fell this way about the Terminators too. Black always looks sick on cars, but I don't want the plastic accents to get lost.

Any reason why yours may have been pulled and others have not? Was it because of order type?

Not sure why mine may have been pulled before others...could it have anything to do with allocation? I know last year there was a program (forgot the name) that allowed dealers to submit as many retail orders (OT 2, IIRC) as they wanted without having those count against allocations. I haven't heard a definitive answer as to if this program is still going on for MY2012 but I would have to believe that it is with all of the OT 2s that have been submitted (and especially by Randy!). But I think I remember reading that Ford will say they are going to schedule X Raptors for a certain production week, then that X will get allocated to regions, and then further allocated to dealers (but i dont know how this is determined). At this point it then comes down to your dealer and first the priority number for your order (10 - 19 if OT 2) and then the date the order was placed if there are two or more orders with the same order date. However, I have no idea why my order would have been pulled before the other two supercrews my dealer said he had in the bank before my order. I can tell you that my order was a OT 2 (retail, and again I may have 1 and 2 mixed up) with priority of 10.

BTW, I am by no means an expert on this so feel free to correct me if I am wrong on any of the above. I'm just writing based on memory of the numerous posts I've read.

At first i thought ford was just building supercabs in the first round. Both Taut and Boosts orders are non crew. But then I looked back at Randys post and the 3 trucks he has available with VINs are crewcabs. There goes that logic string.... The mystery continues.

They should mess with me and start the build on my freshly ordered 2012.

Just saying, that would be horribly awesome (or bad depending on if that makes it happen sooner)...

Racered screw, get er done!

That would be some twisted shit... But funny....as long as I already had my VIN...lol

It reminds me of that old Eddy Murphy skit about the ice cream truck....kids running after the truck and the driver says " Whatch how fast I can make these little MFs run...." SVT today....." hey Joe lets release a black one with a front camera and nav just to screw with them"

Just talked to SVT. Production week of 11/28 for me. VIN was pulled on 10/27.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of you will get VINs pulled this Thursday!

Reptar - I ordered tux black and was trying to switch to white. I can live with the tux but just think the lines of the truck and the hood and fender vents get a bit lost.

11/28?! blah! I'm assuming as time goes on and people get their VIN's, that the date will only get further out. Wonder how many they typically build in a week.

Was hoping for a slight chance of a late December delivery, or early January, but at this rate my luck I'll be one of the LAST to get mine, when my order was one of the FIRST entered into the order banks on 8/26 lol
