The 2019 Raptor is 5700 pounds and 450hp. Someone mentioned tire spin. Not in this lifetime.

The bed is extremely light, and the stock tires suck. My 95 C1500 would spin the tires on the road, let alone my much more powerful Raptor. If you aren't in 4A in sport mode, you ARE spinning your tires. You may not notice (sometimes it is hard to tell even when looking) but you are spinning the tires.

Sounds like a 2019 Limited is more up your alley.

Apples to apples, ie msrp vs msrp on comparable builds, the Raptor is $10k more expensive. Real world, while you can get a Lariat for $10k off, I can get a Raptor for $5k off. So you are right, the difference is closer to $15k. But nothing close the $40k differential "little baller" claimed. And the Raptor buyer gets faaaaaaaaar more truck for the price difference.

As for the unicorn Raptor, the only thing less common than a stripped Raptor is a stripped BMW. Most of small engined X5s run well above $75k and the larger engined ones push toward six-figures.

Again with the insults? Did I hurt your feelings by suggesting the Raptor is not as good as I thought it would be?

When I bought my Raptor, I looked at all F150 trims available and I inquired about best offers for all. I was offered (routinely) $12-15k off 2018 Lariats and Platinums... and 1.9% financing. So yes... the Lariats list price is in the low $50s but could be had for mid to upper $30s.

An 802a Raptor SCREW with roof and wheels is going to be $70ish all day. So for arguments sake... the low on the Lariat is $35k and the low on the Raptor is $65... $30k difference.

Would I build a Lariat to match the Raptor... no. I’m just saying $30k is a big delta for enhanced off road capability... and not much else over the Lariat.

Yes... I did all the rationalization that folks are talking about... looks, off road capability, utility, resale value (which does seems to be dropping faster than Gen. 1), and ultimately what this thread is about “perceived” performance.

Why can’t I say that I’m not happy with the Raptors
Performance, Refinement, and Quality relative to its price without being attacked and insulted?

I am with you, I am not happy either. Maybe my opinion will change so I will hold judgement until I get 1k on my truck and perform my first oil change. Then I will put it through its paces.

I have to chuckle, suddenly because I express concern about a potential issue I have no knowledge of 4x4's and I can't appreciate the design qualities of a Raptor. I was evaluating 4x4's when some of you were still in diapers. Talk is cheap so here are photos of a Civilian Hummer I was testing in the US. The right front wheel came off on the freeway while I was driving, Hummer had to recall based on this incident. Every ones opinions count, that said personally insulting someone because theirs is different is lame, argue with facts, not insults !!

Mostly because people's egos are involved here. The truck is part of their alpha male public persona and by attacking it, you are attacking them. If this was a board for "ABC commuter car" there'd be no issue with criticism of the vehicle.

-I almost bought a Lariat once, but I just hate the name. It reminds me of horses and I don't like horses. Ford need to come up with something better.

$35k for a screw lariat?!?!?!?
If you get no options whatsoever, the base Supercrew 4x4 Lariat is $50K. You'd have to find that truck and a $15K discount. Most Lariats are going to be in the mid 50s sticker, with 10K to 12K total in discounts. I'd say $45K is way more realistic than $35K.

When you say break the tires loose, are you guys doing that in Sport mode with TC on or off? I am just wondering since I have never had mine spin best I can tell, but I alos don't think I've really pushed mine too hard yet.

With TC off spinning the tires is childs play. With it on, its very difficult to tell if you have wheel slip because the TC system works quite well

I don’t agree with a lot of your views presented here but I do agree Jaz has a tendency to treat criticisms of the Raptor as if you just insulted his kid sister. Somethings wrong with that lad.

I did a lot of comparing of F150 SCAB models before ordering my "STRIPED Raptor".
To bring a Lariat up to the base Raptor excluding items that were unique to the Raptor made the Lariat MSRP within 2-3k. I my area, both would have to be ordered. I will pay MSRP for the Raptor and could have paid 5-10K off the Lariat.
The Raptor is 1 foot shorter, and that made the choice easy.

My friend's supercharged 6.2 won't outrun my stock 17, on road or offroad. He comments such every time we ride together.

Interesting, cuz its the opposite over here. My buddy's tuned EB 3.5 cant hang with my supercharged 6.2 with JDM tuning. Neither will my friends Super Snake Shelby F150.. Maybe its a south Tx thang...lol
