Yea some software updates are good, as long as they are going in the direction of Windows 8 (POS).

So after rerading and laughing and being pissed RIGHT along with you Greg, Did the add ons REALLY do anything? I know a fellow raptor owner here and I ran our SCREWS heads up from a standing start and then a 25 punch. With him in his truck with a tune and cia and me in mine with just a flowmaster super 44. Up to 90 he was 1 length ahead. Both times. Now with me in his truck it was almost dead even. He weights about 200 and me at 320. I also had the log chains, tow strap and prolly 20 lbs of crap under the rear seat.

So I was not real impressed with the differance for the money. Also the possible wawawawaaaaa from Ford if I ever do have any issues. I did not like the added noise from the Airaid cia I tried and my 65 to 80 preformance went flat, no tuner.

If a tuner would give me just 2 things, more MPG and a top speed of more than 100I would say maybe. But is it worth the hassles and will it not be nice when and if I have your same issue if I just drop it off and get it back with no BS. HAhahaaaa.

On a corse like Texana, a half a truck at 90 will be EATEN UP by ability so is it all worth it in a daily drivethat has to last 5-10 years. Mine has to. Next Texana meet will see me in the pastures and pits only! Hahhaahaaaaaaaaaa. Screw them boulders and arrowhead trails.

That's what i got out of reading this thread too, it's not worth the price or hassle, the truck has plenty of power. Glad your truck is working again Greg.

Yep.. It might add the old school 4 barrel intake sound. But the additional potential issues down the line is not worth it.

Mods only start a vicious cycle... Mod = more speed = more mods = more speed = more mods = more speed .............

I guess the way I am reading this is IF you wanna go faster, have more power, lower ET's and better fuel milage, you better go find a JC WHITNEY cataloge. HAhahaaaaaa.

No for real though, GO BIG and do a supercharger or Turbo or whatever but GO and BLOW and there will be NO QUESTION about a factory warranty! AHhahaa. Am I right?

All I want is no top end limiter. Thats it. That won't void SHIT sept for tire warranty. I was passing a jerk on a two lane last weekend and he speeds up. I was done at 100. My buddy in his dodge RAM DIESEL was closing on me fast as he was gonna pass too! It was like, WAaaaaaaaaaaaaa pass and then THATS IT??? Need 20 mph more for passing. PERIOD!

if you want it done right take it to a dyno tune and tell them you want a safe tune. I chickened out at 125mph but I also ran out of road. the good thing about those duratracks is they are a 120mph tire. I do like my mods never had the hot rod and now I do. If you are only doing one mod don't do it you need all 3 CAI headers and tune. I have my tune set up for e-30 and mpg it is 2mpg better I'm thinking the duratracs are going to help with mpg also. If you plan on adding all kinds of power the next weakest link will fail just a thought. 40 more hp isn't that much but you can tell it is their.
to do an honest test on the mods weight each raptor with driver then do the switch it would be interesting.

P.S. I have never messed with my tune I just leave it set where it is. to me that is the part thats not worth it. if you set it wrong the fule could lean out to much stuff like that. even if you read up and think you have it an oh crap wouldn't be good unless you can aford it..
