So I have my first complaint.....KO3s suck. Let me explain. I don't like the running boards so I took them off.....KO3s are the worst I've ever owned for throwing rocks. I took 1 trip on dirt road and now I have rock chips all down my side. My question is. Will the factory mudflaps prevent this. Thanks in advance

I’m not familiar with the “factory” mudflaps, but anything will help more than nothing. I like the Gatorback mudflaps that I had on my gen2, but they will catch the tire if you back up against something steep enough. Gatorback replaced my back ones for free. The other rear flaps are up against a hill next to a beach in Baja somewhere!

Running boards help protect the sides from rock chips. Mud flaps MIGHT help, but rock chips will still happen. A lot of people apply PPF on the rockers at the least.

Bottom line: you bought a truck and took it off road. Rock chips and scratches WILL happen. Or you can stay at Starbucks.

Although flaps and boards have their place and benefits my personal favorite is Herculiner anywhere that’s taking abuse. If the tires are oversized extend the flairs or get bigger ones.
