I joined up a week or so ago and I’ve been lurking for months, but I finally bought my Raptor a couple of days ago. So I figure I should introduce myself properly.
I’m Rick and live north of Denver. I’m a Army Vet, Computer Nerd, Jeep and now Raptor guy. I love the mountains and I can’t get enough of hitting the trails. I bought the Raptor as an overlanding vehicle to supplement my Wrangler JLU. I have a lot of mods planned but give me some time since I put a pretty good sized downpayment on my dream truck.
This is my fourth pickup and probably my 30th vehicle over all. I kinda go through them quick. I hope to keep this one for a long time. I’ve discovered that modding keeps me invested in the vehicle (like my Jeep) so this one will get started with a spray in bed liner (next Friday), a tonneau cover, and a half height bed rack. I should have a roof top tent this spring. I won’t be doing any mechanical mods for a while. Especially after discovering all that has to be done to get a proper winch installed (seriously, I have to relocate the intercooler??).
I also hope to get some take off beadlocks at some point. The KO2s will likely get replaced with Falken Wildpeak MTs (an excellent tire in the snow). An onboard compressor, Molle racks, lockable firearm storage, rear seat covers (my 7yo son is a bit of a pig), etc., etc., etc...
Anyways, happy to be here. I hope to see some of y’all around the Rockies. I can’t wait to take the Raptor Assault course.
