A dump will definitely drone a lot more than a rear exit exhaust. I also think the 50 is quieter than stock? If I remember correctly

I've been listening to the clips on YouTube. It seems louder than stock, but they all have the dual exit. Some still have the resonator, installed. I'm worried about drone, as it's my daily driver. I just want the typical, louder than stock, but not obnoxious sounding exhaust. I'm not 21 and trying to wake up my neighbors, lol.

Flowmaster 40 would be your best bet. I think the 50 might quiet it down. In my experience with dumps, the noise just shoots down, and bounces back into the cab. But the dumps make the truck look cleaner with no exhaust pipes.

That's what I'm going for, plus it makes it more off-road capable, I've seen too many bent tips. I could do the lightning style exit, too, but I like the clean look better.

My worry with the 40 and the dump, is that it'd be to loud for my taste. Maybe I could do the 40 and keep the res with the dump...too many damn choices!

Either way, the raptor is a bad ass truck and just looks and sounds awesome. I kept my resonator and it makes noise outside and quieter than stock inside. I'd keep the res! You wouldn't gain enough noise outside to justify the noise gained on the interior of the truck if I worded that correctly.

I got ya. I think I'll do the 40, like I said above. If I don't like the dump, I could shoot it out the side, with a little modification. I'll have my muffler guy, clamp the tail on, instead of welding it.

Worst comes to worst you can return to stock. Follow up with video's and pics once done and what you go with!

When I had my 2004, 5.4 F-150 I was debating on putting in an X pipe to two Dynomax Race Bullets.

How do you think one would sound?

How much drone is there with just cutting out the stock muffler and installing a straight pipe? I looked for videos on YouTube but couldn't find any without a muffler.

I've never seen or heard a muffler delete on a raptor. My money is on it being loud as hell
