I did install my MPT tune (93x) Saturday and so far I have been very happy with it (although very limited driving time). The increase in power is very noticeable especially when I push the truck. I get more of the "snap your head back" feel than I did before when pushed in the Raptor. I am very happy that the normal driving dynamic has not changed that much, ie the throttle is not twitchy and the shifts in normal seem very smooth. Overall Normal mode feels just like before, just with more power available when I ask for it, which is exactly what I wanted. Sport mode really opens up the truck much more than before, but I only drove in Sport for about 10 mins so far so i don't want to judge it too much yet.

I'll drive a lot more this week including about an eight hour road trip on Thursday and I will come back and give more thoughts on it then. So far the results have been excellent.

If you don't mind, let me know how your tune behaves if you hit the gas just hard enough to have it kick down from 10th gear into 9th gear. The tune that I received from them does not handle this well and has the RPMs spiking way higher than needed for the downshift before they lock in where they should be.

Do you have this issue in normal, sport, or both? I’ll play around more with mine over the next few days and see if I get this issue.

Jeff,
No issues in going from 10th to 9th, but truth be told its hard to make it make that small drop. If you give it too much gas it wants to go to maybe 7th or 8th, it was hard to find just the amount of gas at cruising speed to make it go form 10th to 9th. I was able to make it work a few times and I never had any high RPM's in 9th, it was really smooth when it shifted over.

Over all after about a week I'm very happy with the MPT tune. It did really well on the 8 hours drive yesterday. Most notably when passing on the highway there is so much more power on tap then before when going say from 70-80ish to get ahead of someone on the highway. I did have one really rough shift when passing a truck on a smaller road. I was going about 65 and went WOT to get to about 80 or so. When I went WOT the downshift was really rough. It was a one time thing so I will see how it goes moving forward before I see if MPT needs to adjust the tune. My understanding is that the tune is self correcting on the trans so it may fix itself over time.

But for $700 I don't think there is anything you can do that comes to improving the overall driving feel of the raptor compared to this tune.

Thanks for your reviews, please keep us informed as to any adjustments made either automatically or by MPT on the transmission shifting.

Also when you get time, please try as many driving modes as you can and report any likes/dislikes.

My 5 Star tune works very well, replaced local tuner's tune.
What year is your Raptor? I have been working with them extensively for two weeks now trying to get something better than stock on my 2019. With the first several tunes that they sent me, my truck took forever to get up to 50 MPH. I was probably five times slower than stock. I now have a tune from them that might be close to stock, but definitely not better. They looked at my logs and said the truck is creating more power, so I am not sure what is going on. They also loaded the tune that was a complete dog for me on a 2019 truck with the exact same software part number and the truck reportedly generated 120 horsepower and 140 pounds of torque over stock. I am getting frustrated constantly testing and sending logs, but at least they seem to care which is a good thing.
