I’m sure they will get it at some point - hopefully the next batch. This highlights the importance of a good vendor such as yourself

So no raptor here but a 2017 Platinum. Installed the Gen2 last night. Coming from the Gen 1 Ambers as my Platinum came with Amber.

First I want to say thanks for being the only good thread in regards to the Gen 2 DRL/Startup issues.

So honestly I thought I had received the wrong harness (OEM Halogen with black heat shrink) when I opened the shipment. Then I saw the other harness OEM LED (Yellow Heat Shrink) and initially swapped it. Went to plug it in and noticed, hmmm no where to plug the blue connector. Since I was coming from Gen 1 I grabbed those LED harnesses and plugged it into the Gen 2 as it had both orange and blue. First test, turn signal, low & high beam and parking lights all worked (Dial was set to Auto). So next test, I put a flash light on the light sensor to get the auto to turn off. Lights turn off (I’m in park) so I then apply the brake, shift to neutral, lights do the “Bugatti Style Startup” the DRL Ring switches from Dim to Bright then immediately goes off. Mind you the parking light never came on in this manner. Now with it still in Auto and Neutral I cycle the light switch from Auto to Manual back to Auto. This time the DRL comes on in full brightness and stays there.

So question for other who have installed the DRL Harness. Is the Bugatti Style Startup just when the DRL comes on? On my Gen 1’s the DRL would stay off until I shifted out of park during the day. Does adding the harness change this behavior? Is the Bugatti Style Start happen in any other modes? IE start truck in dark environment where headlights are going to be on from the get go. Does the startup execute then switch to low beam?

if anyone has some video of their properly functioning Gen 2s it would be much appreciated.

Did you watch our video where we go over the harnesses?

BTW that startup sequence only happens when you first start the truck, via the DRL harness (which goes to your fuse panel).

The DRL harness is what controls the DRL on the housings as well (thus the term). Now it's not NEEDED to get DRL to work, but to work properly it is. In my video I explain it's optional. With the DRL harness installed, your DRL SHOULD also dim at night, so that the DRL is not that bright. It's also going to allow the DRL to stay on during the day I believe, since that's how it's getting power (from the fuse tap).

Sure did! Hence why I picked up on the black versus yellow harness adapters.

So currently I have the Gen 1 LED Harness installed with all resistor packs bypassed. Everything seems to function normally except the Full Intensity DRL after the Bugatti Style Startup when I shift out of Park during the day & dial set to auto.

I have full intentions of opening the wheel wells and installing the correct Gen 2 LED Harness & Fuse Tap Harness. Just more curious as to what is actually intended function as the videos aren’t super clear on when and what happens. Thank you for your video. After the pains of Gen 1 non dimming DRL this is all a blur.

I don't understand what you mean by Gen1. A Gen1 Raptor? Or the 1st version of the Morimotos for your truck.

You need to use whatever came with your NEW lights. The old stuff is for a different style housing.

You need to install the DRL for your startup sequence and DRL to function properly (with dimming)

My apologies... I have the XB Version 1 LED Harnesses currently installed. As I did my install late last night and the all current install instructions still show references to Version 1. Just found this forum about five hours ago. Plan on installing the fuse harness and correct Factory LED harness when weather permits.

The end desire and why I posted was to find a clear understanding of when said startup sequence was suppose to happen. From what it sounds like from you is when I start the truck.

Thanks for your Uber fast responses and hard work!

Now the question is what fuse location?

I tried 113 (Had a 7.5amp existing) and 40 (No existing fuse)

Both had voltage when truck is started and when the headlight switch is off. Neither fuse location responses to the “Daytime Lights” selection under “Lighting”

No fuse you use will respond to the DRL setting on your truck.

The DRL on the Morimotos is ON whenever the truck is on. That's what the harness is for (along with the "startup sequence").

Don't connect the fuse-tap if you want to control your DRL from the dashboard system (if you even can) or via FORSCAN.

My truck was programmed with FORSCAN from the first version of the Morimotos, so that my headlights were always on. So I've not experienced anything else as they are on no matter what. Basically the only reason I connected the fuse-tap/DRL harness was for the startup sequence and so that the DRL would dim when my lights were on (theoretically)
