Could this be true? I've always been told that a tune, assuming they go deep into the ECU forensics, will be traceable. If it is traceable, how about this scenario? You use this tune, but when the FP tune finally comes out you switch to that. Would they be able to discern that there was a tune on top of a tune, or would they just see the latest?

The dealer will find evidence of the tune. You will have to pay to play on this application. There are many ecoboost engines that were denied warranty due to tunes from the various manufacturers. Roush would be the exception.

I'm sure there are situations where warranties get denied and other situations where they do not. All that said, how big of a risk is it to run a tune like MPT? I searched the internet for quite a while and major horror stories from running a tune were not jumping out at me. I know there are some out there, but all in all, the various tunes from key vendors seem to be fairly safe. Am I wrong? I saw a fair number of minor satisfaction issues, but major catastrophes seem to be extremely rare. I do not plan on drag racing the truck, or flogging it from start to stop, so will I be okay? People taking their trucks to the drag strip are going to break things with or without a tune, so I kind of rule them out.

I've been down this road. It does nothing to your warranty. If you have a failure they MUST prove it was the tune without a shadow of a doubt but they must also know you had one. Either way, I have fought and won a battle with another dealership, it was slightly painful but worth it. They can't just say naw the warranty is voided and tell you to **** off. If they prove the tune was the cause and your independent says the same. You are buying the replacement of whatever you broke. That simple.

It depends on the dealer and how hard you want to fight. My dealer is pretty cool and knows that if I come in with a rod through the side of the block, there will prolly be a warranty problem. If I come in with a bad A/C compressor, not a problem. It's all circumstantial.

Hey guys, just curious on the tune process. I have had a tuner before, but I never had to send in my data logs. When you order, do you get the tune ready to load then you can tweak with data logs? I assume if you have a stock truck, our logs would all be very similar, correct? May be a stupid question, just learning! Thanks!

What does that mean to you, Sassy?

Have we confirmed that "Mnawsty" is Sasquatch? Either way, I'm guessing that he is implying that the "Tuned Cold" numbers were purposefully omitted because they are not as stellar in comparison to the hot numbers, which they may or may not be. Even if that is the case, I am a buyer based on the hot numbers and the testimonials speaking to the transmission tuning benefits. I would find it hard to believe that the "Tuned Cold" numbers wouldn't show a fair improvement over the "Stock Cold" based on the "Tuned Hot" numbers and the fact that nobody is reporting sluggishness when cold.

No, but whoever it is has not denied the accusations, nor inquired as to why the heck everyone is calling him/her that. So....

In regards to cold vs hot, I'm not educated on the impact. The motor doesn't stay cold long. Or am I thinking about it the wrong way?
