You are missing the last item.

So you are offering them something in between, sounds fair to me. You should be able to find a dealer (I hope) with that offer, apparently not that dealer tho

Another piece of advice you can take or leave(or may already know):

Make sure you read every single line of the purchase agreement/buyers order/retail installment sale contract. They love to throw in hidden fees such as a window etching fee, a prep fee, an advertising fee, etc. Those are all BS and don't pay them. Tell them they are changing the terms of the deal and you are not okay with it. Be prepared to walk away and let them know that you are.

Also, they will try to sell you a warranty. If you want that rolled into the financing I suggest you get a quote for the Ford ESP from one of the dealers that sells them cheap and tell them thats the price you are willing to pay for a warranty with equivalent terms.

How does it go from $51,000 purchase price to $54,623 out the door?

Thats $3,623 in TTL and Doc fees? Maybe you have really high tax rate there or something?

That sounds about right. Where I live sales tax is over 7%, that would make it easily over $3500. In my state, your trade offsets the sales tax. My deal is around $25k, taxes will be about $1900.

Fair enough. It's only 3% here. Registration is also $75/yr. One of the few good things about New Mexico I guess.

Is that really legitimate? If it is I would make sure its part of the $51,000 number you are offering and they don't drop that bomb on you in Financing. In fact just tell them that your offer includes any fees except Doc Fee and TTL. That's what I usually do so when I do get into finance and they add some other fee, I can make them remove it.

I would let it rest a bit… hit up some other random dealers… believe me… it took me a while to find someone who would order at invoice or near.. and not give me BS run arounds.

Yep. His offer is about right in-between when you are counting that so his offer seems reasonable. Bet he tells them to take the warranty off the table, then they will probably take it. Most people pay it when working from invoice. If you paid invoice minus that, then good for you, you did better than most.

Glad that my state has you pay tag, tax and title at the tag office. Confuses the deal.

No I can see it being that over invoice. I mean the dealer has to make some money right? I don't really care as long as they are up front about their fees. then I can make an educated decision on wether or not I am being treated fairly.

With the used Raptor I just bought, the (Nissan) dealer had added about $2000 to the price that we had agreed on (very top line of the buyers order). If I hadn't looked over the buyers order carefully they would have totally screwed me. Of course when I pointed it out they pretended it was just an honest mistake they missed... A**holes... If I hadn't caught it then it would have been too late. If I went a back a week later and complained, they would have said, "well you signed it..."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all dealers are like this. I'm sure there are plenty of honest dealers that do fair and transparent business with their customers. I've just bought a lot of cars of the last few years and most of them, one way or another, tried to screw me.

Bob , I can feel your stress getting this Raptor but its worth it. Your dealer trying to get more $ out if you. I doubt about lifetime warranty trap to get you in :-(
As somebody mentioned try other dealer. I went 1400 miles away (**** smith ford in Raytown,MO) to get my Ruby red raptor screw last week at Invoice + 199 dealer fee. No hassle, no stress, straight to the point. See my previous post. Peace :)
