Tell them D+D is ******** and they can take it out of their profit margin. Worked for me with my first 2012 raptor.

Relax bob, take a breath. I know purchasing a vehicle is stressful.
My point was more of a suggestion, take it or don't.
Stressful doesn't even come close to summing things up. I don't mean to be snippy, but all this crap makes me wanna choke a dealer. It doesn't need to be this difficult!

That's exactly what I told them. Trust me, they're making enough off of me. The only reason I haven't completely walked away is that this dealership offers a lifetime warranty on the engine, transmission and drivetrain. So I really don't mind them making a little extra off of me...but don't try to blaintently screw me.
Bob18, do you know what invoice and what MSRP is on the raptor you want with all the options? There are sites out there that can assist you and I would be more than happy to also. Just send me the details. Once you know that, then you will know exactly what a dealer is offering. Don't count Taxes, Title and License in the equation because that will be most likely the same no matter where you go. The dealer doc fees will be different, of course and that's another total cost consideration. But you need the base price to get started and feel comfortable with the deal.
Could be another shady dealer trick. Ask them to see the COMPLETE written terms of their lifetime warranty. If they won't show you ahead of time, they are probably trying to screw you. There is a dealer here that offers that same "warranty" but if you read the fine print, you have to prove that there was a manufacturers defect. Also their warranty doesn't include labor! What do you think they are going to tell you when your transmission fails around 100k. They will say "oh sorry, thats not within the expect lifetime of the transmission... they just wear out. Its not a manufacturers defect." They also tend not to cover any of the electronics that support the drivetrain (which there are a lot of this day and age). I'd be really careful about falling for the "lifetime warranty" thing. I think getting a better deal and being able to buy a $1500 7yr/100,000mi Ford ESP is way better than any dealers "lifetime powertrain warranty".
Buyer Beware is all I'm sayin...
Mine will be:
2014 Raptor Super Cab
Special Edition
Ruby Red
801A
According to Edmund's:
Invoice: $47,854
MSRP: $53,060
Both of those numbers included D&D. My offer to the dealer was $51,000. Again, including D&D in my number. So, out the door, I should be $54,623. But I'm not because they pulled D&D out of the MSRP and added it as a line item along with taxes, tags, etc. I guess they did that to pad their profit margin. So if you calculate it their way, I'm $55,890 out the door. Like I said, I'm ok with $54,623. I just use the lifetime warranty to justify paying a little more. Am I missing anything. A second set of eyes always helps.

Thanks. That's good advice and something to think about.
