More Ecoboost Ford Raptor evidence for 2013?

It's time for the Ford techs to chime in. 6.2 vs 3.5eb, which engine visits the shop more often?
I love technology, but anything new requires time to debug. The ecoboost is not revolutionary, but is a big step forward for Ford. If they've done their homework, the 3.5 eb might be the next best thing, Ford is certainly pinning it's future on the Ecoboost engines across their entire line of vehicles.

I've seen zero 6.2 (besides normal maintenance and one that had ran out of gas) but several ecos in the shop for various minor engine problems. From tech acquaintances/friends and other techs on our tech bulletin/forum board, the ecos have deff seen some shop time and some total failures. That's not to say the 6.2 has been 100% problem free, but not near the problems of the eco. At least that's the feeling and experience I'm getting.


As for a eco Raptor,
I like the eco, its a cool motor that's scoots along pretty good. But its not like fords breaking new ground with it. Hell even kia has little direct injected turbo motors in thier cars. I'm not sold on the longevity of direct injected gasoline engines mostly due to our ****** fuel quality. Maybe ford has, or think they have it figured out. That's hard for me to personally count on when fuel qaulity constantly degrades and you have zero control or heads up about. So far its lookin hit or miss but time will tell for sure.

For the comment about the 6.2 being a choked 2 valve.. really? The 6.2 valve and runner size is hardly suffocating, even by performance standards...

The ecoboost has had more issues in my area then 6.2 and 5.0 they do sell very well I will agree. This is the first six cylinder that is successfull this is eight cylinder territory as well as you wont see any 2wd drive vehicles around. I don't feel like that engine to the raptor but that is just me. The eco in the taurus show had fewer issues then in the truck, but I think they are running it in half tons around 90% efficient I think. My issue with the direct injection is after all the diesels. I've also heard of few ecoboost Ford has bought back, haven't seen that with 6.2 yet.

I surely will buy a eco-boost if Ford decides to come out with one but, I doubt they ever will.. Think about it. How many engine combo's have ever been available on the SVT vehicles? As far as I remember only one engine has been available at a time. Ya they came out with updated or bigger engines but that it as far as I remember...
