I thought I would chime in since I am in the same situation. My sunroof made popping sound when it was opening. When Iam attempted to close it. It would not close all the way. After several attempts I got it to close. So the next morning I tried the vent position -I know dummy me. Anyway it would not close all the way and ended up having one corner of glass panel stuck partially open. So, I made an appointment with dealer.
Well after vehicle sits at the service bay all day I get a call that they could not get to it -pick it up and bring it back the following morning. No loaner offered as vehicle was operable. So the next day I take it back and at noon I get a phone call that the one and only trim guy had to leave early as he he was feeling ill. Service advisor told me to bring it back the next morning. So my next obvious question is what about my partially opened sunroof and what if the technician is still sick? Uhm! not sure. Well to make a long story short they were able to find another tech.
Turns out track was broken and complete sunroof would have to be replaced(under warranty thank goodness as it is a 2500 repair). Fortunately, they were were able to get the sunroof closed. Unfortunately, it would take about 6 weeks before they could repair it. 2 weeks to order the part and..3-4 weeks as they would need to find another trim tech. Sadly It turns out the other trim guy would be out for at least 3-4 weeks due to COVID 19 virus.
Well at least I have Mags to drive until until this all gets sorted out. Sorry for the long rant.
