Mine had a problem that sounds similar, they covered under warranty with no issue and gave me a loaner for a few days. As soon as it was fixed it worked better than it ever did since day 1. I don't think they are real surprised when one comes in for a problem

Well, I'm not sure what happened, but now it's working just fine! I went out to go take a video of what it looks like when it tries to open/close (there's nothing to hear...it only made the loud noise once), but while the video was rolling, I pressed the open button, and it just went ahead and opened as usual! I continued to open/close it, move it to the vent position, and back closed about 4 or 5 times, as well as looked inside the track to see if anything looks wrong/broken, but I don't see anything, and it seems to be working as normal.

I'm going to keep my service appointment and have them take a look at it anyway, have them lube the seals, etc. I'll definitely be picking up some lube also and put that into my list of periodic maintenance that I do.

Is that something that they'll likely have in stock and be able to repair/replace in one day (my appt is for 9am), or do you think it will likely require an overnight visit, in which case I'll need a rental? I guess if they say they don't have the parts at the time, I can just ask them to make another appt for me when they do have it, and I'm assuming it wouldn't take more than one day at that point!

It's a 2 hour job to be honest. They pulled both glass panels, replaced both tracks and lubed and reassembled everything.

My dealer had the parts in stock and if they aren't, they can get them from another dealer. But if you want, ask if they have the pano track kit in stock and to hold it for you. check the other thread that's linked for the TSB as well.

You should be given a loaner since it's warranty work. I doubt it will be overnight. I can see that if they don't start working on your truck until 3 though.

They most likely will tell you all day and maybe overnight but it should be done by 3 if they start on it about 11.

Honestly, having it break was the best thing for it. They lubed everything and aligned everything. It's like a different roof.

Be prepared though....that lube is no joke. that shit gets EVERYWHERE. You will need a few microfibers and cleaning solutions. It's not the mechanic's fault either. It's impossible to keep it clean and contained. I am sure he will try but understand....it's impossible.

Do I just call and ask the service dept if they have it in stock and see if they'll hold it in case I need it for my service appt on Tuesday?

When I made the appt, they said a loaner vehicle would be $30/day. Do only certain dealerships give free loaners out? Or maybe because the lady I talked to didn't know it would be warranty work, she didn't mention that to me...

And yeah, I'm kinda hoping they'll have to take the whole thing apart and then they can repair/replace anything that might be wearing out, etc.

Good point...I'm actually going to avoid opening/closing the moonroof for the next few days, as I'd really hate for it to stick open!

Yes. Ask them if They have the parts for that tsb in stock and to hold it or order it for you. They will give you the, we need to verify it and bla bla bla but they will be using those parts.

you are entitled to a loaner with your raptor as part of the warranty work. The * to that is if they have them and offer them. If they do, you get one or they cover the rental costs.
