Hoping someone can give me some advice. I own a 2018 Shelby Raptor with 24K miles I bought new in 2019. I drive it a bit obviously. It is mostly garage kept except a few days here and there when it might be out overnight in the driveway in nice weather. I had a leak in the truck first week I owned it. Dealer took care of it (or so I thought). Has been back to them now twice in less than two years and going to be a third time for moisture on the passenger side floor that keeps showing up. Unsure if related to outside rain or is it from A/C?? They have not fixed it. Any thoughts? I think they need to remove my carpet and check it for mold too. Sick of this issue. Let me know what you think.

Moisture in that spot is typical for the A/C condensate line leaking. I know I saw on here there was a service bulletin for it. Hopefully someone with a better memory could tell you what the build dates were for when they had an issue.

The drain tube for the A/C evaporator is probably plugged. I had the same problem fixed 3 days ago. They also had to replace my carpet. They installed an extension to the drain tube, which is the fix from Ford. Apparently this is a very common problem on all the F 150 models that Ford is aware of. Plan on the truck in the shop for 2 days.

Are we able to either get this extension drain tube part or have Ford install it to proactively prevent the issue? Do we know what model year this was resolved on new models?

I have a 2018 shelby raptor with a very hard 20k on it and I have not had the issue you describe. I do have a issue because the way they mounted those tire carriers in back my bed has ripped on both sides.

Shelby makes significant number of changes to the truck to upfit it from a factory Raptor to a "Shelby" Raptor; it's an aftermarket package, not a factory option. With the wiring for the additional lighting, power running boards, illuminated rock sliders, etc., there is a high probability that they drilled holes in the bulkhead and/or floor to run the harnesses. Even if they sealed the holes with grommets, moisture can still work it's way in depending on environmental conditions, proximity to the evaporator drain tube, angles of the holes, etc. I'm not sure if they pull the dash during the upfit, but that can also result in the evaporator hose being disconnected or pinched during re-installation, which will cause moisture to enter the cabin. Ride height will also affect the evaporator drain, if the truck is higher in the front than in the back, moisture will accumulate in the tube instead of draining out.

The TSB Ford issued (20-2170) includes vehicles built on 31-Aug-2018 and to 02-Feb-2020 and does not affect all vehicles. There is no need to have the TSB performed unless there is a symptom of water not properly evacuating through the evaporator drain tube. The TSB just has the dealer extend the tube with a 90 degree elbow for trucks that exhibit the condition.

If the dealer has already performed the TSB or if the issue occurs without A/C use, contact Shelby. They offer a 3year/36K warranty, they need to be held accountable for their workmanship.

See my above post. There is no need to do the TSB unless you have condensation building up on the drain tube and leaking into the cabin; not all trucks will exhibit the concern. My truck is in the affected build date range and has no issue.

The TSB does not address a plugged evaporator tube, nor does the concern affect all F-150 models. The TSB applies to a specific build date range of trucks and only applies to vehicles that exhibit condensation building up on the drain tube and entering the cabin through the drain tube seal. The TSB takes slightly over half an hour to perform. If it's to the point where the carpet needs to be replaced, obviously that will extend the repair time.

If you plan on fixing it your self it's pretty easy! I did mine a month ago. I caught it before the mold set in. Fixed the problem , bought a can of Lysol, emptied the can on my carpet then used a blower for 2 days while carpet was up. Perfect now. Here is the T.S.B. and the part number for the elbow. Hope this helps anyone! Elbow part number = 4M2Z-6A614-AA, I bought this at AutoZone.
