I started in on the Tuffy lock box project this afternoon. It was an easy install. I didn't cut my floor mats like others have. I may or may not in the future. For me to do it today would have required some rubber silicon to put along the edge where I cut to prevent water getting under the box and in the carpet. So I didn't do it yet, but I'll see if its necessary in the future. I have weather tech mats I'd rather not cut them.
The packaging was very secure. I was happy with how well it was protected.
You have to take out the jack and put the frame for it in the box and screw it down with the bolts and washers they give you. For anyone doing this, remember to put the bracket piece that comes with the box on the sub bracket BEFORE putting the box in and putting the jack in. It makes it impossible to get a wrench on the lock nut when tightening the bracket piece if you already secured the box down with the jack.
The jack takes up some space and its a little disappointing but the box is still great to have. Looks clean.
Threw some stuff in there that was previously just sitting on my floor mats and all of a sudden my back seat seems clean!
Overall I am very pleased with the product. It's not a hard install at all. Probably would have taken half as long if I would have bolted it down in the right order. It looks clean and feels solid. I can see where it might be even better for a screw because of the extra space after the jack takes up some of it already. Hope this can help someone if they are deciding whether or not they want to get one or if they are installing.
