The electronics will tell you when you are doing something wrong. I have gone back and fourth between 2wd and AWD at 80mph. Like most say, just lift and coast.

If you try and go into 4low while moving, it will scream at you and not let you do it.

Unless you're moving three mph or less which is, if I remember correctly, in the manual.

Although I always stop and shift to 4wl in neutral.

Yup. Better yet to pop it into neutral just before you roll to a stop.
