Well that suck's , sorry your day ended so early. What exactly do you mean the leafs like to walk around?

It seems like the under sprung is more prone to axel wrap and feels like there's quite a bit of latteral movement in the rear. They are definitely a softer feeling ride that cycles the travel smoothly. I have a feeling that the weight of a 37 is about as far as you'd want to push this leaf setup.

Sounds like you may need to stiffen your these springs a little?

I'm getting ready for springs and was leaning toward a spring under set, how do these springs feel on the street?

Only experience I have is the set of spring under Deavers we put on my Sons Tacoma, drove it around 300 miles in Mexico. They felt good but were Stiff and not getting full travel, removed the second from bottom leaf and they are just right

His springs feel ok rate wise, we just need to focus on shock tuning. If you plan on running a spring under setup i would suggest notching the rear frame, otherwise there is no real benefit because you will still be limited by your shocks travel. I may be wrong, but the shackle setup is totally different on a Tacoma than a raptor. I believe they are top mounted so they benefit much more from spring under than a raptor.

Tizz's truck is benefiting from the combo of spring under and notched rear. His trade off is a little more loosy goosy of a spring, but picking up the ability to max out a leaf spring travel setup. Now that we know the rear will hold up ,it's time to dial it in.

Depends on what year Tacoma it is. 95.5-04 had the shackle mounted directly to the frame rail like the old F250/350 trucks and the springs were slung right beneath the frame. To get more travel guys would move the pivot point above the frame and use a 12" long shackle. 05+ Tacomas use the modern hanger and shackle set-up.

Yea it's a 1999 Tacoma with 62" Deavers (which by the way only cost $700.00) swinging 12" shackles above the frame. Cycles 17.5" travel with a 16" shock layed down roughly 10 degrees. It is my sons daily driver and drives very well but it wont corner like a Raptor on road.

Really curious about the on road manners of a spring under set up on our Raptors. I dont know if you could get enough of a load rating for daily duties and towing without loosing up travel because of the increased spring rate.
