If you have money to burn, be careful because a few things could turn into a lot of things real quick. It gets very tempting looking at all those parts.

Haha oh I know but those few things aren't gonna be cheap to begin with lol I'm gonna try and talk Cory into putting in a half cage in it like jarrett had at the raptor run an maybe some 3.0's along with 2 more method wheels for spares and who knows I just might let them do whatever else they want haha hell I'll do some testing fr them if they have new parts they still need testing on :signs1:

They are developing a more robust version of that cage for me now...the plan is to not interfere with any of the other safety systems.

I agree that some sort of cage is better than none at all but there is a reason why race trucks are required to be built to certain specs. Let's face it, many of us ARE running at race truck speeds. Definitely not TT fast but I'd be willing to bet that we're running at comparable or faster speeds to what a lot of limited trucks are capable of. I'm 10x more concerned about my safety off road versus on road. I cant remember the last time i had a pucker moment driving down the 405... Besides, being in a 6,000lb. truck with 37" tires and tube bumpers, I'm really not all that concerned about an impact with 95% of the other cars on the road.

Should have some updated pics today....

After a couple of holdups, the 2" chromoly tubes showed up today so some progress was made.

Should probably note that the cage will be 100% TIG welded and it's going to be super clean. Here are just a couple shots of the down tubes tying into the frame for the C Pillar. I complimented Baker on the welds and all he could say was just wait til we get to the visible welds inside the cab. I'm stoked to see this thing come together. More pics tomorrow of hopefully the entire c pillar complete.

Are they welding the tubes directly to the frame? or are they making frame plates to distribute the load?
I had a cage in a pre-runner with out plates welded on the frame that cracked the stock frame over time.

Yes, plates will go on. It's just tacked on for now so it can be broken loose to drop the cage down to get to the top junctions for a 360 weld.

That answered my question on the top welds too! Very impressed with where you are going with this truck.
