I would definitely call Ford's customer care and ask them if there's anything they could do to help you out, as it is just out of the powertrain warranty. They may surprise you. Years ago the helped me out with my 2013 raptor that was just out of warranty, although it was only an overpriced 3rd brake light.
Yes, I will do that.

Its probably that drum recess that everyone talks about. Find someone who knows those transmissions and get a second opinion. You can get full rebuilds for 5 k with newest parts.

I was quoted $5k for the tranny and 19 hours to install. She said it would be about $7.3k
3 year warranty from Ford nationwide.

I did call Ford Customer service though, and they asked a lot of good questions and said that because the truck was only 3 weeks out of warranty that they would consider a "good will" benefit for my truck.
I'm not sure what that means, but at least they listened.
Customer Service rep James Sheffield was very nice.

If it's only 3 weeks and 5k miles out, I would hope they cover the majority of it. Like, maybe you pay $500, or something like that.
And if not? I’d throw a bottle of tranny fix in it, make sure it’s warmed up, code-less, detailed, & trade that SOB on a gen3 or an RHO (yeah yeah flame me but Stellanitis is cutting deals these days)

I needed a new trans at 48k. These trucks are fun, but they are really piles of shit. About as dependable as a wet fart. I'll never own one out of warranty

Transmission replaced now, Ford Customer Service gave me a 40% discount because it was just 3 weeks out of warranty.
FCS is paying $3327 of the bill, I owe the remainder of $4990.
New 3 year warranty on the tranny only. Local shop would have only given me 1 year, and not nationwide.
Santa Maria Ford said they would discount the $4990 for me, but I don't know what that discount is so far.
Truck drives like it's new now.
I will keep the truck for another 3 years, and then adios.

Congrats on the new transmission… My son just got his ‘19 non-Raptor F150 back today from the dealer today after a transmission rebuild with the new CDF drum. They also replaced most of the clutches as well as the torque converter, so he basically has a brand new transmission at 50K miles.

Drives like new… Better than new actually.

Mine of course is out of warranty, so they told me to pound sand…Perfect opportunity to upgrade though, right?

Regardless, it goes up on my home garage lift this weekend to start the engine and transmission R&R with several upgrades along the way… Gotta get the a/c evacuated, and pick up a high lift transmission stand before I start the project in earnest.
