Missed SVT Open House

So heres is the story that went on the last few weeks.
At the Sliver Lake Raptor trip the group ran into Alex Przebienda SVT Mustang GT500 Program Manager
driving a 2013 mechanical prototype Raptor. We all stopped and looked at the truck and talked to Alex and his wife. I had explained to Alex about a trip I had been working on with the previous manager(Makr Gruber AKA...builtfordtough on the other forum) for the Raptor group involving a Saturday at the plant for a tour with a special Raptor build up and a Sunday at Romeo track with a tour of the engine plant.

It looks like Saturday is the preferred day for most... I have 18 for Sat and 7 for Friday... I will be im Mi for a few days... I was going to talk to Bob Malicke the manager of the building I worked in(EVB) and see if we could get a mini tour or a drive on the track for the guys... Don't think the drive would happen but I will ask... Some what to take there families, some are expecting a free tour, some want badges... Geezzz, what a can of worms I opened... ha ha

Hockster - No need to talk to plant or track. I think I have this all set, just not quite ready to announce yet. Between us (don't post it yet) I'm planning on a VIP plant tour on Friday Oct 1 - for Raptor owners and a guest (I hope to buy the tix). VIP tour includes a special host and the opportunity for some to go on the actual plant floor (adults only). I've already spoken to the plant on this but I need to coordinate w/ the Henry Ford Museum who does the tour.

On Saturday Oct 2 - I am trying to do a day at Ford's Michigan Proving Ground in Romeo Michigan. Raptor owners will bring their trucks to our test facility (typically never open to the public) and they'll drive their Raptors at the test track on some similar courses that we had the 6.2L media drive (where we had all the mud etc). It will be a few hours of driving and may include some rock climbs, high speed and trail events. Maybe even a water crossing.

I'm trying to get SVT engineers to participate and give some tech advise.

I have some details to work out - but I have the basic plan agreed w/ the plant and test track. Please don't mention this to the other forum members - keep it secret for now. You can just say you've spoken to me and I'm working on some real cool stuff.

I have to work out several things including the sign-up and how to coordinate the event. That's my big open item, but I have a few alts.

Let me know what you think... but again, pls don't share these details yet AND no need to work on any plans yourself to set up anything else right now. I should have it handled for now. May need help later.

This all fell through because Mark was promoted. He sent me a not saying that the 2011 launch was taking up to much of his time and this all would have to be postponed.

So, I get home from the Silver trip and email Alex about the specifics of the trip and it all goes down hill from there again... Alex forwards the email to his engineering coordinator and ask her to help me out. Only to find out that WE MISSED THE DATE COMPLETELY!!! The open house was 8/12/2012...

I just want to tell you all I am trying to get something worked out. This aint completely over yet.

I want to go next year since I have to see inlaws in Dearborne anyway, might as well make worth my going across the Mississippi River.
