Morning/afternoon/good evening gents, I have a quick question that I’m looking for some advice on. I have my gen 1 raptor currently at 80,000 miles. Did all the plugs, wires and boots at 60,000. Used MSD Blaster Packs ( I know lesson learned ) and NGK iridium plugs. Started misfiring a couple weeks ago with cylinder 6. Stayed that way for a while until I attempted to be cost effective and just changed that single pack out. 24 hrs later cylinder 8 started misfiring. All under load mind you. Between the 1800 rpm 40-60 mph range. Again silly me, I attempted again to just change that coil and lo and behold less than 24 hrs later I’m throwing a cylinder 4 misfire code. Lesson learned and I do plan on picking up full OEM motorcraft coil packs from Rock Auto soon. My question is is it normal for one coil pack to fail after another as they are changed? The misfire stayed for the first week on the same coil but is seems now every time i change one, another one almost immediately fails. Please beat me with the dummy stick if this is a common occurrence. Apologies before hand if that’s the case. I just tried to be a little cost effective until I was ready to get the motorcraft packs. Any advice as always is appreciated!
