Meguiars Wax/quick detailer = ridiculous

My paint sucks
Its actually one of the worst i have seen
Above my tailights is so thin i can actually see freakin metal showing thru
Orange peel is rediculous all over the truck

There is also alot of BS in the clear in almost every panel.
Im glad i have a paint warranty
My dealership is fixing all of it but i scheduled it for after the raptor run just in case hahaha

Yes, but the problem I don't like about my Raptor is that the paint has a lot of Orange Peel as it came from the factory... to correct this, the truck would have to be wet sanded, they actually make an optical micronometer that you can measure in thousandth's of an inch the dept of the clearcoat so you can keep checking it as you wet sand the clearcoat...

I don't have those kind of skillz to attempt a job like this, and after all, its a Ford (albeit a super primo Ford), its NOT a Ferrari.

My Raptor has orange peel too. I complained to Ford but the dealer showed me truck after truck.. they all have it. I was at a stop light just today and there was a Black Honda Ridgline in from of me. Orange peal all over the tail gate. At least its not only Ford. I hear its the new water base paints they are required to use because of EPA regulations.

Porsche has the best paint, they have an positive electronic charge in the paint thats sprayed, and a negative charge in the body and frame so it bonds much stronger and even. I wish more car companies would do this.

I just used a polymer sealant on my A3, it turned out ridiculous. Waiting for the rain to stop to do the Raptor. Its a little pricey so I bought some polishing pads and got a free 2 oz sample of the sealant which is enough for two applications.
this is what I used - Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine.

just purchased the several of the wolfgang products. including the polymer. I let ya all know how it turns out.

I have a arsenal of this kind of stuff on my vehicles haha
I have been using the 3M and switched to Meguires sealent last time for the raptor.
Not lasting too long. I just ordered this wolfgang stuff. Lets see if it delivers like it says.

just purchased the several of the wolfgang products. including the polymer. I let ya all know how it turns out.

nice. the polymer is a bit of a pita because it cant get wet for 12 hours after application but it goes on super easy and comes off even easier. no residue or anything, just buff it out with a microfiber.

For those of you who have black raptors turtle wax makes a kit just for black cars and trucks. I used it on my black raptor and let me tell you it was breath taking! It is a pain in the ass process but if you want a shine like no other I would give it a try!

Well this weekend I used Wolfgangs from Autogeek. net with the Cyclo buffer

Having a buffer is great, made the job very easy and fun. I did wolfgangs swirl remover I had some good scuffs from my desert run. Then polish enhancer, then paint sealer. After the sealer cured for 24 hours i followed up with their carnauba paste wax wax alone was 50 bucks.. wax on and wipe off no waiting for the haze..

anyway it looks great... cant wait to take it out in the dirt again for some camping,fishing and wheeling..
