Another forum member was nice enough to drop by and do a quick test fit - sadly it does not clear!

Instead of getting out like a goof and measuring, just keep the full-length radio antenna. It sits taller than the roofline. If the antenna hits, back up.

Can confirm, this is how I measure (Gen 1 FWIW). Seems most logical way. If antenna top goes boing, pop head out window and verify with eye balls or roll with sun roof open.
