511 is the 'goal'? Strange goal.

Nameless engineer: "It looks like we can get 500 easy, maybe even 510."

Jamal: "Hold on guys, we don't do 'easy'."

Engineer: "So...511?"

Jamal: "Make it so."

511 makes sense, it would put it at 100hp more than Gen1. I'm still not buying into the numbers till they're released. There have been a few "I know a guy" threads out there...

I could see it from a marketing standpoint, since it is 100hp more then Gen1. However I dont know how connect he is, other then he works for Ford and I had told him I was looking at the Gen2.

I posted up in the engine thread earlier, rumor has it that the "goal" HP is going to be 511. So, what I am curious about is how much does the HP number change your decision/feeling about the truck. I know for me, if it was over 500hp its a much higher level of want lol.

Not at all I have 411 and that's scary enough off road at 100mph without a cage. Just bragging specs.

I can't say for sure as it's purely speculative obviously.. But today at the cleveland autoshow I was talking to the guys who work at the plant that is gonna build the 3.5 and when I mentioned 511hp the one guy got a very surprised look on his face. He mentioned he heard it be around the 430's.

The guy who seemed to be running the Ford section told me they're probably only weeks away from releasing specs.

Sounds like Specs will be the New York show at the end of the month maybe?

My '12 is within a couple months of paid out, I really like it, no reason to change no matter what.
