It is new, per Ford's press release. The only thing it shares with the old 3.5 was the displacement number.
New block, heads,pistons, etc

I guess you can call it "new"...to me it's like going from a 2010 to a 2014 Raptor, some improvement, nannies etc, but same truck at the end of the day.

That is like saying every 3.5l engine in the world is exactly the same as any other, no matter what. The only thing the new engine shares is the same displacment, how is that not all new? There is a lot more to an engine then the displacment figure.

ehh, same shit different day...guys telling everyon to relax and be civil are the first to throw gas on the ******* flames...

if you can't have a little fun and take this place too seriously, then you're probably in the wrong place...every thread i read about gen1 / gen2 has some level of entertainment in it, and if that's all it's worth, i'm cool with it.

I think this place needs a disclaimer for new members so they can understand the level of sarcasm around here so they dont get scared off as easily.

Agreed, people need to simmer down and stop with the personal attacks. The dude made a poll, answer or dont answer and move on. All of you saying "Ford would never do that blah blah blah" are just as bad as someone taking the 511hp figure as pure fact. Nobody knows wtf Ford is going to release so chill and stop with the attacks.

Also the poll is a hard one around here simply because a lot of guys have a bunch of money invested in their trucks now and dont want to take a huge hit to start from square one even if the HP numbers are high on the Gen 2.

Ya'll need to stop taking everything to heart and realize the internet is awash with different opinions, take the high road and move on.

If every single new thread, even if its a speculation thread, turns into a giant **** measuring contest this forum will die just like Birdman said.

is that ***** measurement's becose I've got my tape out.

The 2017 Raptor is not using the same 3.5L from the 2015 F150:

"Yes, folks; the 2017 Raptor is EcoBoost only and the first recipient of a second-generation 3.5-liter V-6 with twin turbochargers and direct fuel injection. Ford says the high-powered EcoBoost engines it develops for sports-car racing influenced some of the production V-6’s improvements, including a new aluminum block and updates to the fuel system, cylinder heads, and internals. "

This is a pointless thread lol... A guy who has no real evidence or credit is stating that ford will reveal a 511hp truck? My god the current 3.5 ecoboost doesn't even break 400 and this engine is going to make 120+ more? [emoji848]Lol don't even bring up the Ford Gt into this argument either we won't share the same engine as a $400k Hypercar.... Ford isn't going to drop a hellcat like surprise on the market.
