If it’s been 100% stealership maintained and it’s stock then you should have no trouble getting the truck repaired. This is seriously rare. Yeah, engine problems happen but as previously indicated some things don’t add up.

Good luck with the repair.
Fully stock. Truck never had anything done to it. Previous owner even had a tire protection plan from ford

Truck was always maintenained at the dealerships. Oil changes done regularly. I really didnt see anything that would be a red flag.

Dealership said no recalls on the vin number… few days after Ive picked up the truck I got this message.

Drove to dealership next day they’ve checked and confirm I would probably need a cam phaser replacement. Unfortunately my truck didnt make it
Dealership maintenance is indicative of mileage intervals, but they don’t record hours. To have a sprocket failure is rare, especially at that low mileage.

Sorry to here this brother, get it repaired and hit the road;)
FYI, I ALWAYS have the max time/mileage ESP.
My sons 2010 Stang was in for 80k service, long story short (rare for me) It was totally stock, they discovered a CRACKED BLOCK. It took ESP 2 weeks to approve it. They wanted EVERY SERVICE RECORD. Looking for any reason to deny claim.
They fixed it, ZERO out of pocket, $10k Repair.
Hang in there, they will Get-R-Done ;)

From personal experience and a couple years reading this forum, the most important thing right now for you is the dealer. Ford WILL take care of you but the dealer plays a huge role in being your advocate.
I basically got a new engine at 45k miles (long block, turbos, etc), but I had gone through 2 previous dealers and many weeks without the truck to get to that point.
I never fought them, I was patient but persistent. I just wanted the truck fixed. I never asked for a new motor. Ford just finally came back and said “you’ve been through a lot with this truck, here’s what we need to do.”
Currently at 80k miles and she runs great.

Dealership I got the truck from is really not being helpful at all. They are making a joke out of it and they look more into a fast fix and see what happens later on rather than do it the right way. To them its still only a cam phaser replacement fix…

How long did you wait for the new engine and how long was your entire process?

I feel like I wont see the truck for the next 3-4 months at least…

The entire “journey” was over the course of a year and about 7k miles on the truck. It was in and out of shops maybe 4 times while they really focused on the cam phasers. It was also 2020 so shops were dealing with sick employees and part shortages. At the time I was simply trying to get the phaser noise fixed.

The actual engine swap “fix” was only a couple of weeks once I dropped the truck off. They had 2 Raptors in during that time for engine swaps.
Again, the dealer made the difference. 2 other dealers that have great reputations did the “quick fix” (one was the dealer where I purchased the truck). The third dealer simply cared about the customer more.
Guess which dealer now has my business!
