But the bed of the truck would be perfect, and the dirt bags will get a nice view.
Call it "Major General Lee"

On the serious side: I'm a little hesitant to placing magnetic signs (numbers) on the paint surfaces. Tiny bits of grit could damage the clear coat.
Hell, paint them on! and clear over it. It won't be cheap, though. And a little... okay, much more permanent.

i had thought of regular vinyl too. the magnets should be fine i think aslong as they arent being slid around too much.

and yeah the roof is a bit hard to see, but all it takes is 1 to see it and blab about it..... not worth it to me.

i seriously thought about that too, but too many stupid people out there who would be quick to label, and not get that it was from one of my favorite shows as a kid. but yes, i have referred to the Molten Orange Raptor as "The General Lee on Steroids"

My senior design project was a formula hybrid SAE car. To do something a little different we decided to put horns on the car. What more shocking than being on a race track with the other cars and blaring a horn out of this thing :ROFLJest: Formula SAE cars never have horns lol. And well if a horn is cool, the dukes of hazard horn is even cooler! So we stuffed the entire air horn setup behind the seat of the hybrid SAE car. We also had a lot of orange conduit on the car for the high voltage lines, so between the dukes horn and the orange, we just had to top off the theme off with a 3"x5" confederate flag sewn to the head rest. I was actually shocked at the number of people who didn't get the connection AT ALL. I mean yeah we're in Philly, and the DUkes of Hazard wasn't a show from our generation, but it's still a legendary car, and several recent remakes of the movie have been done. A few people came up to us at events and asked us blankedly "oh does that flag mean your team is all racists?" Are you f'ing kidding me? We'd just look and then hit the dukes of hazard horn, and they'd still look at us like "well, are you? because you should remove that flag from the headrest immediately". The dean of the school even banned us from hitting the horn at school events because (and I quote), "thats a racist horn". LOL!

People pulling the race card on the dukes of hazard flag, or even the horn, just identify themselves as the racist one. We were just throwing a tribute to an iconic muscle car, and doing something to grab attention with putting a horn in the SAE car, and ZERO intent of anything towards discriminating. But hey, people are STUPID.

So while it would be cool on your Raptor, I'd definitely just do the magnet thing and only put it out at car shows or something, and not leave it on for DD use.

dude exactly...... im probably gonna steer clear of the flag tho... i had origionally said i wanted to get a magnet flag too and just put it on if i go to a Raptor Round-Up, or go back out by the farm and show it off to the rednecks out there lol (it is where i got my redneckish from). i still MIGHT get a confederate flag magnet to be removed.... but again its one of those if someone sees it ever, theres just too many stupid people out there, and believe me, Chicago is FULL of them! just look at our polititions..... 4 of our last 7 governers are now convicted felons! :ROFLJest:

imo, magnets suck! i've been doing signs/stickers/wraps fro 5 years, they will fly off your vehicle at highway speed once you have taken them off and on a few times, [the corners will pull up]. they will also scratch the paint under the magnet.

just so you know the new technology in vinyl, will allow you to take it off with out damaging your paint, when your done seeing it everyday.

general lee would be cool:waytogo:

CMT is still airing re-runs of the Dukes of Hazzard. I'd suggest watching a lot of episodes before you do this to your truck. If after that you still don't think this idea is as corny as the show was, more power to you.

But you should be forced to dress like the Duke Boys in 1980's ball hugger Wranglers if you go through with it.

You also run the risk of some brat kids or older smuck steeling them.
