A friendly word of R&D advice...

Test the crap out of it, before releasing it! The #1 continuing complaint I've heard about all roof-mounts is their wind noise... which has driven some owner mad, to the point of removing them.

If you can figure out a bar/bracket design that doesn't create a lot of wind noise, it would be a huge hit. It's possible, just takes some trial and error design work, and maybe some knowledge of fluid dynamics...
