Hope you guys keep this civil.

Price vs Quality and Durability is what I'm looking for.

Is Rigid's favor based mostly on brand, or is there truly a quality difference?

I got my Rigid bar through Wicked Performance on here. The Build Quality is excellent. Every LED worked out of the box. The instructions were clear and all the hardware was there. The install went flawlessly after I made my own mounting bracket (I would have had to do that for any light bar).

Rigid also includes all the wiring, harnesses, fuses, and switches you need to make your kit work. Sure, you can get this on your own at Radio Shack, but I decided that I liked it being a one-stop shop unit.

I also picked Rigid because they're built in the USA. I'm not saying that the M&R has any less quality because it's built in China, just stating a fact.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the 20" Rigid E-series puts out 7900 lumens and the 20" M&R bar puts out 7500 lumens. Everyone with an M&R seems to be happy with their purchase. And I'm very happy with my Rigid purchase. It's all going to come down to what your priorities are and what your budget will allow. :waytogo:

I talked to an owner with the rigid duallys and he has had two sets that leaked. He gave a thumbs up though for brightness and Rigid Customer Service, who replaced the lights without question.

Rigid or Vision X (My choice) for sure.

1-year warranty on something made in China

or

Lifetime warranty on something made, supported, and repaired in USA.

Your choice, to me it's a no brainer.

do you own rigid lights or are you just saying that based off what you have read on the forums.

both rigid and vision x are great lights, ADD sells both product lines

No, not just saying that based off what I have read on the forums, Although I have read about a lot of problems on the forums as well. I have personally seen problems with Rigid lights one with dead LED the other with water penetrating and staining. I know that lots of people also love them that's why I said hit or miss. Personally I would not buy them for fear that I would get a bad set and have to deal with shipping them back and forth.

I've actually hit my M&R 6" lights with a pressure washer direct on multiple times and they are still dry. They are plenty of light for what I want, which was bright, budget lights. If you want to spend more, the Rigid lights are probably a bit nicer and definitely have a better warranty, but for me, the M&Rs were the way to go and I love them.

keep it civil and i'll keep it open. :)

These do kind of tend to be touchy threads around here

The way I see it, they're two lights filling very similar (Bright LED lighting) but slightly different (price range) needs.

There is a market for both because not everyone wants to spend the extra cheese on a Rigid, but still wants some LED lights.

This is much like comparing Kragen HIDs to a set of LightForce HIDs or some other more expensive brand.

CSmith, where are you located, maybe there are members around your area with maybe a couple different set-ups you can see in person. I know if you were in Nor-Cal, i'd meet up and show you what i have. I'd also like to meet up with someone with Rigids or VisionX just to do light comparisons, even look over build quality.

You also have to understand with any product, USA, China, India, Mexico, Canada, all products will at some point have a bad experience, not every product produced is identical to the one made right next to it, shit happens. So because you have read or heard some bad things about Rigid, don't discount them. I would also believe you might hear more about Rigid since they have been used on Raptors a lot more, a lot of us just started using M&R, again, not saying much, but just know that since we have all so far posted that we love our brand "X" light, doesn't mean someone out there hasn't had an issue with it for whatever reason.

So just keep an open mind, call and talk to the different company reps, and then go from there.

But let me know if you are near Nor-Cal, we'll meet up and i'll show my you set-up.

I based my decision on price>quality>warranty, that equation was what worked best for me.
