So my exhaust valve/actuator was previously rattling just a little when very lightly leaning into the throttle but after 2 software updates as part of recent recalls the exhaust valve is now rattling to the level of embarrassment during cold start. I can get it to mostly stop by switching to sport or baja but that's obviously not ideal. I took it to my service advisor and below is what he showed me, which states Ford is aware of the issue but there is no fix at the moment and a fix is expected some time in September.

On a side note, he also showed me a similar message related to the front suspension clunking, FWIW.

Needless to say, I am getting pretty annoyed with all of the issues I have been running into with this truck with either no fix from Ford or service telling me they'll need the truck for 1-2 weeks before they can even look at it with no loaner being provided.

Anyone else having a similar experience?

As the service message states, the exhaust should not be replaced, as it may result in a repeat issue since it’s the same part.

Why would the dealer need the truck for 1 to 2 weeks to verify an exhaust rattle and shock noise? That’s an hour of diagnostic time at most. They should document the concerns and call you to follow up once the fixes are released.

Tell me about it. Pretty much all dealers around here are short on techs so that is the standard response I get from almost everyone.

I also have the an exaust rattle. It is not 100% of the time and is more prevalent on startup. I have the truck set to start up in quiet mode 23 hours per day but don't think that impacts it.

I’m right there with you. Gen 2 2019 52k miles. I’ve never been at a service department and found myself calculating how much it would cost to bond out of jail for shaking someone violently.

Made an appt and took her in for: metallic grinding in 2WD both front wheels (IWE issue), exhaust rattle, loud wastegate rattle at idle, cold start rattle despite cam phaser replacement, cold start delayed harsh shift holds 3rd then jerks into 4th or 5th every morning, the time delay from when I shift into Reverse to reverse engaging has significantly increased recently, and the driver airbag module has torn again.

This is what service told me word for word:
“We won’t be able to get to your truck for at least two weeks. But if you don’t leave your truck here to sit [in some imaginary line] for the two weeks until we get to it then it won’t get serviced. No we don’t provide loaners/rentals [despite advertising it on their website]. And no we can’t call you in two weeks to have you come in when it’s your turn. If it’s not here waiting it’s not getting done”.

Needless to say I left.

Same crap here man. It's ridiculous. Warranty is almost useless. I have to plan my service visits in conjunction with my vacations now so I can afford to leave it with them without a loaner for 1-3 weeks.

I agree! Loaners are impossible to find these days but I got lucky. My Gen 3 got hit this Monday and ruined the front bumper....Wasn't really that bad. This dude was trying to fill up gas his truck and maybe forgot to park it or put it on neutral and rolled 50-60 ft and hit my car. He said this brakes failed. My car was 9 days old from dealer! At least his insurance was a 1 day turn around and sent me a check already and will be bringing it in next Tuesday for repairs.
