Looking for opinions - 2017 802A with 82K on the clock

Long time lurker, first time poster. Curious what you folks with high mileage Gen 2's advise I look at when checking this one out. It's definitely higher mileage than I would prefer, and I'm working on them to get the price down. How are these trucks holding up near the 100K mile range?

They hold up fine, it’s an F-150. The only question is how it was taken care of for the past 4 years and 82k miles. A lack of maintenance or abuse will result in issues on any vehicle.

Plastic oil pan leaks, get extended warranty

Seems a lot for so many miles and that old(for any other truck) but they are amazing trucks and i guess they hold up? Mine has been holding up pretty great, small things gone wrong and fixed under warranty. I have a black 802A 2018 with 49k miles that I want to part with for 60k. Pretty clean.

1. Just had the oil pan leaking done under extended warranty, would of cost 1100.
2. Change plugs every 10k and oil over 5k
3. No problems and I drive it like I stole it...twice.

If you can get the original owner to provide records or receipts for regular maintenance then I wouldn’t worry about it. I had a 14’ Tremor with the 3.5 eco boost and loved it. Excellent motor. Traded it for a 14’ Gen 1 Raptor with 79k miles.

Not that it matters to the discussion, but a 2017 Gen 2 is made by the Ford Performance division and should not be called an “SVT”.

Are the oil pan and transmission pan seal leaks covered under the 60k power train warranty? I’m looking at pre owned with 42k miles and I think the tranny pan is seeing a small leak.

Yes they are covered.

I didnt know the tranny pan seal was also covered. Hm..

Regardless, FORD used my aftermarket warranty.
