The Rough Country lights aren't bad, but there are obviously a lot better lights available. The Rough Country gives you a complete triple fog light kit for $299.95 and the behind the grille kit for $249.95. If you're need a lot of light or lights that are backed by something a better than a 3 year warranty, we highly recommend Baja Designs, Rigid and KC Hilites. Lights like Baja or Rigid are going to be more expensive, but you're getting a much better quality light and a significant increase in actual light output backed by significantly better warranties.

I won’t down the R/C lights as I don’t have direct experience with them. You’re buying higher quality than off of Amazon for sure, but as mentioned the Rigid / Baja Design / etc. LEDs are in a different league. One thing I would suggest is to use a combo lens behind the grill, not a spot. Even though you don’t lose much, you still block the beam throw with the grille, and if you’re going for distance with that light, I think you’ll lose more visibly than with a combo lens.

If you’re doing some off roading and need a lot of light for serious at night driving, get the behind the grille bar. If not, I’d suggest you set your sights on a bracket for the triple fog lights and if money is an issue, start with the B/D SAE lights. Look at what the night pictures look like compared to squadron sports ... and the SAE is not that expensive and you can legally run it on the street.

I found this light pattern great for lighting up deer on the road side as well as lesser forest critters. You can add a combo lens and distance lens lights later - like Black Friday ...

You get what you pay for when it comes to lighting. For $250 do you really think you're going to get a high quality light? Or $300 for a fog kit? no you're not going to get anything high quality for that price. Will it do the job for you? Probably, BUT you drive a Raptor right.. that tells me you like high quality things. So why taint that Raptor with sub-par products. That's my opinion.

You'll see Baja Designs mentioned up and down, and for good reason. Best of the best. Rigid are great too but Baja just does it a bit better. User serviceable components such as optics, bezels and most important LENSES are what separates them. Unhappy with the lenses you have now? Change then up for less then a few gallons of gas.

My dad has the rough country's on his truck and i have baja designs on mine (in comparable setups) and mine absolutely destroy his lumen output/lux. He also has experienced fogging in one of his lights where water got in behind the lens. Like the vendors stated above, the Baja Designs are truly in a different league both in terms of build quality and output.

I have some Rigid Industries lights that were never installed- went with SVC prerunner bumpers before I had a chance to install the Rigid setup.

And price..the S8 kit is $900 vs $250 RC. Almost four times the price. The RC is IP67 the baja is IP69, 12000 lumens vs 19000, 3 vs 5 year warranty so not saying baja is overpriced. At the end of the day lights do one thing and that's light stuff up so on a budget RC fits that purpose.

Now for the fog light kit there are some pretty good deals around black friday I'd at least check those out because you can get light guards, better harness, better mounting for not too much more.

I'll be honest on my 2018 SCrew 802A my buddy and I installed 6 Zroadz fog lights (the kit). Honest to god when I turn them on I feel like I’m turning on the sun. Absolutely would recommend them.
