Hello Ditchplains, I'm in Fort Lee, NJ, just outside of G.Washington Br. so technically, I'm in NYC.
I started this thread hoping that someone will know of a private or public land that is a lot closer than Adirondecks or MA. As for dealing with Liberals, my path is very simple, "AVOID". No point to spending time educating them that those others who are not voicing themselves have rights too.

I have just started exploring in the Wharton State Forest in Southern NJ, Shamong area. I'm not doing any herioc 100 mph whoops runs but there are trails, it is dirt/sand/mud, there are puddles, trees and more sand. There's maps available at a Ranger station in Atsion and online at IIRC "pineypower" something or other. However, our wonderfully incompetent, power hungry, over reaching, over officious ******** of a governor has decided that closing trails will keep more power in his pocket, er, I'm sorry, "will save all our lives" so evidently, the state forest is closed.
