Looking at a 2010 Ford Raptor SVT with under 100k miles.. how expensive to maintain them?

Yea it lowers your monthly but my man 74 months on a 100k mile truck is the worst deal you can make. Yr interest will be like 5k total. That truck will be worth nothing by the end of the term. Thats a shit deal. Dont do it.
I did not think of it like that. I appreciate the insight. I need to just hold off. If i do a 3 year term, its probably $700+ a month which is not worth it.

Market is in shambles right now. Its an expensive sport. But id rather see u pass now and save $$$ and get the real deal when YOUR time is right. Do you own a home yet? You don't want to be in stupid debt underwater on an old raptor trust me. If you want a v-8 dump the ridgeline and get a 2006-2011 sierra 2500 or Yukon denali for like 8-12k 6.0 . Super comfy and a lot cheaper.

Yeah its rough out there and I thought I found a good deal since these raptors last so long. Ridgeline is paid off in 3 years. I'll ride it out. Its an ego thing but man that thing is not a truck at all. Its a terrible drive but its reliable and only has 79k miles on it.

How many miles on the sierre 2500 is reasonable? And are they reliable from your experience?

^^^ that is the raptor I had reserved

I have no experience between the 5.4 vs. the 6.2. Besides whats on paper, HP, gas mileage, etc, what is the issue with getting a 5.4? Is it less reliable? This 5.4 was a pavement pounder, a guys second car with 98k miles over 12 years. Its clean with no rust. I have a good deal on it, sub $400 a month payment. I was planning on getting some used fox shocks to be able to rotate them out when the other is getting repaired but besides that I thought the 5.4 is solid. If you guys think its better to wait for a deal on a 6.2, for sure let me know. I don't want to make a big mistake.
There is little difference. Neither are high performance engines. The 6.2 replaced the 5.4 3V as the standard F-250+/E-Series engine. They’re well designed and reliable for their intended applications, but neither was intended for a high performance truck like the Raptor.

so a first gen with 100k miles and 75 month loan is a death wish basically. And not even worth it since the new raptors are so much better?

Nothing wrong with a Gen 1. Plenty of high mileage Gen 1 's out there. The financing seems excessive. Try to find a Gen 2 under 50,000 , not going to happen. Truck looks clean from the pictures.

The truck looks great. If everything checks out then its a great truck BUT the financing is $399 for 75 months so 29k in total for a 2010 gen 1. Sure I can try to re-finance it at some point. I have been searching forever and finally found a 5.4 I like but damn this financing is not helping.

The price is fine. The Raptor looks clean. If you are financing the whole 24k then $400 is a good payment. I think it could be a collectable in 12 more years. I say go for it. But the market seems to be changing (in my neck of the woods) so negotiations could go well for you. 20-21k would be awesome. Good Luck!
