I thought all trucks had the secret compartment, I was wrong. I found what looked like a different key compartment, in the front upholder under the rubber piece. It looks like the key will fit vertically, but it does not. I have the 801A package. I guess the 802 would be the only one with the horizontal key holder.

I have always just kept a piece of aluminum foil in the compartment and roll the key inside of it and that blocks the signal. Thanks for the info on how to do it without the foil.

Now i just have to remember to set up the outside keypad code......

Great idea finally can keep my spare FOB in the console safe, thanks.

Under the cupholder is to set up the MyKey I think

On my 802A I used it to program spare third FOB. I also believe it can be used to place a FOB with dead battery in order to start the truck.

Get a faraday bag, will block RFID signal, then you can hide the key in your car.

I purchase this on Amazon and was hoping to keep my extra FOB behind the back seat driver’s side. Used keypad to get in truck but it would still start and drive off. Not sure maybe my bag is defective. Move it to my tool box hanging in front of the wheel well truck did not start but allowed me to open the tailgate. Wrap many layers of aluminum foil around the FOB and placed in the bag behind the back seat, no start or open doors allowed. So maybe wasted money on bag just needed more layers of foil.

Maybe a stupid question/observation but if you keep your fob in the truck and lock using the exterior keypad...and someone gets into your truck (I.e. Breaks a window, etc...) that will set off the alarm correct?

Assuming the alarm goes off as it should, can the bad guy simply push the start button and drive away without first clearing the alarm through the key fob?

IMO, if you want to keep an extra fob in the truck w/o the obvious risks, why not take the battery out of the spare fob? If you ever need it to start up the truck, use the cup holder location to insert the spare. It's designed to start using that method if your fob battery dies, right? Or hide the battery separate from the spare fob...or both, haha!!!

No offense, but using foil to wrap your $70K spare key fob is....uhhh...not smart

How is pulling the battery any "smarter" than wrapping with foil?
Both fobs can still be used to start the truck if properly handled (either placed in the right location or unwrapped from foil.

Neither fob will open the doors to an unauthorized person outside the truck.

Neither fob will start the truck if someone breaks in and doesn't manipulate the fob.
