I was just thinking about this yesterday...I think the factory bed liner is $450 and Line-x is $550. I was kicking myself thinking I could have just ordered it but I assumed the Line-x was a better product.

The extra $150 amounts to a lifetime warranty, fade and peel and you can get it resprayed. The factory liner warranty ends when your warranty ends.

Warranty:
Factory - 3 years/36K miles
LINE-X - Limited lifetime valid nationwide

Repair:
Factory - Dealer can't fix it (will probably send out to LINE-X)
LINE-X - Any LINE-X dealer can fix it.

Thickness:
Factory - Extremely thin, only about 50 mil average. It's a slip resistant surface, but not a "bedliner".
LINE-X - About 125 mil on the floor and provides a LOT more impact protection.

Colors:
Factory - Black only.
LINE-X - Practically any color.

Fading:
Factory - Will fade over time.
LINE-X - Standard black will fade, but LINE-X Premium and Xtra will hold their color and gloss.

I had Linex in my last truck and called them to see if the warranty transfers (it doesnt) and to arrange having the Raptor sprayed. They have changed to a Bullet Liner dealer. I had talked to the owner a few times in the past and we talked about the reason for the change and the differenced in Linex versus Bullet. My linex had faded alot in just a few years and he said that was part of the reason he switched. I went with Bullet and it looks great. And he gave me a discount for being return customer.

Funny because Bullet is aromatic just like standard black LINE-X and will also fade. I think the guy pulled a fast one on you!
