When I had my linex done the truck was already two years old and the linex guys told me they couldn't removed the bolts.
This can be tricky. on vehicles that have been up north in the salt, or coastal areas, it can be hard. If a truck breaks my snap on torx bits, i usually will talk to the customer and let them make the decision to let us spray over.

Is removing a factory job possible?
removing a factory job is difficult. We have the patented Renew process which allows us to go over existing coatings, and make them look and perform like it was sprayed by us to begin with. I have done this before over factory liners, and just replaced the bolts and tie downs. im fixing to do that with mine, and cover up this ugly factory job.

This is the normal procedure for us, and most of the Line-X shops around the country. unlike the terrible factory liner like mine came with where they just shoot over all of it. be glad you guys werent forced to buy this garbage!

If you have ANY questions about the process or product, make sure you ask alot of questions. Almost every Line-X guy loves talking about how we do our jobs and make our living!

so...as a linex dealer, why did you go with the factory liner? just curious..

It wasn't really an option for me. They have started ******** with allotments on alot of these dealerships that arent ordering enough factory bedliners. The Dealership had 2 trucks i could choose from, both had factory liners. they had to order them that way or not get any more raptor allotments for the model year. I know that sounds like a sales ploy, but my father in law is the dealer, and he doesnt order his normal stock with liners intentionally so that i can spray them for him. win some lose some i guess.

When mine was done, he pulled all the bed bolts, tie down hooks, removed the tail gate and the bolts and panel that cover the tailgate lock assem, then masked and plastic wrapped the truck for spraying. awesome job.
He told me this is how all trucks are done, the only way it wouldn't be done that way is if the truck is old, and bed bolts don't want to come out, to avoid breaking them, or the installer is just lazy and wants to rush, and if thats the case customer can call linex dirrect and put a complaint against the installer, If there is enough complaints against that installer the product can and will be pulled from them.

I will need to get to the bed bolts eventually for a rack. I will be linexing the bed next month.

How did you approach this? Do they take them out, linex, then put them back in?

I don't want to have to dig for bolts or tear into a warrantied brand new linex to get my bolts out.

Suggestions?

They don't spray the bolts. I have the TMX rear facing light mounts and bed stabilizers. They removed the stabilizers, tie downs, bed bolts, lights off the mounts, (the mounts them selves are riveted in) and then they sprayed the bed and put everything back in. Bed bolts are totally accessible. Even the tailgate access panel was removed, sprayed and re-installed. That way the panel is removable
