I agree with Mr Pork. While I love the truck so far, for close to 55k sticker why they couldn't put backup sensors in is beyond me. While picking my truck Tuesday I was speaking with the Fleet manager about another raptor that had come in the week prior. The first night the customer had it home he let his teenage daughter take it out for the evening and she backed it into something and folded the rear bumper up to the point it needed to be replaced. Needless to say the customer was not happy.

He had them install an aftermarket backup alarm while repairing it.

backup beepers are for utility trucks.

don't you have a backup camera? It would annoy the living crap out of me having a backup beeper already having a backup camera.

...and there is your answer. You get used to what you have. I have become surgical with my back up camera. Since I have the NavTV I can even use the camera to measure the space to see if she will fit.

I have them on the FX4. Don't really miss them not being on the Raptor if they were fine but not necessary. I get use to the truck and my limits. I guess some people need that security.

Besides I thought Mr Pork drove an OTR truck for a living a Raptor is much smaller. I've driven large trucks and equipment for yrs, you get use to it.

I do change the backup lights to a sylvania bright bulb I get at Advance Auto.

How's bright are the reverse gear lights on your Raptor?

mine are pretty bright

worrying about the gas mileage on a raptor is like worrying about the grocery bill when you marry a fat girl

I'll bet it doesn't beep so you learn to use your back-up camera more often. I had both sensors that beep'd + lit up via sensor lights mounted in the back of the Jeep cabin I could see in my rearview + a back-up camera. Guess what, I never used the rear camera OR hardly used the rear light up sensors....only the beep to guide me.

Now that I think about it, while we should have the option to choose the beep or not......only having the camera will get us better at using the rear camera.

I'm 50/50 on this again bc I never used my last rear camera BUT am hopeful the larger screen + better screen sensors make it an easy transition. I'll bet it's an Insurance thing.....the beep option doesnt matter in a truck like the raptor...people HAVE TO look REAR instead of listen REAR to where they are going in a truck like the raptor. Otherwise, Hints, the girl who "relied and blamed" her bumper accident on no rear beeps. That sucks for Dad btw!

Haha. I already told myself NO ONE BUT MY SALESMAN @ PDI (plus get accessory's installed) AND ME ARE DRIVING MY TRUCK FOR AT LEAST THE FIRST 3 MONTHS! NO ONE! :Jedi:
