1) I hate the tiny glove box space, yet it looks huge from the outside.

2) I hate the ****** "leather" on the seats, it's faux-leather junk!

3) I hate the crappy sound system that I paid extra for.

4) I hate watching the numbers click by so quickly while at the pump.

All of that being said, this is one hell of a truck!

Tejas

Out of the above, the only thing that worrys me is constantly seeing the speakers blow. This sucks. I was hoping for a good system. Again, I dont wanna upgrade.

I dont recall seeing folks complain about the leather as much on years prior...is it the blue or both trim types that look cheap? Regardless, I dont care how cheap they are as long as they hold up over time and comfortable.

Th best thing about most of the criticism I see from current owners is (a) honest feedback and (b) a note at the end that reads "I love this truck or this thing is rad or no complaints". So this tells me the Raptor really is an amazing truck overall regardless of any dislikes.

Cant wait hopefully take delivery of mine next week!! :peace:

To be honest, I think the speakers are decent. I think that you can certainly tell that they are an "upgraded system." However, if you're looking for something like harmon/kardon then these aren't it...

Just do Birdman's little sound tweak and it should be good. I didn't do the fade because I thought that it was good from the factory, but that could be because mine's a supercrew and his is a supercab.

My buddy has an 09 FX4 with supposedly the exact same Sony upgrade, but his sounds SO much better it's ridiculous! Better, deeper bass, more clear highs, everything! I think Sony started short cutting the components, because they dont sound even remotely the same.

hey WildClyde and anyone else experiencing issues with voice recognition...

See if you've got the latest upgrade to your Sync software from syncmyride.com (or your dealer could probably do it for you too)

The latest update was pretty much devoted to fixing problems with the voice recognition. I believe the version you want to see is v.3.2.2 (the previous was v3.2)

My gripes that I've just learned to live with 'cause I still love my truck:
-lousy quality of the backup camera
-wish it had proximity sensors in the rear bumper with alert tone
-the occasional problems with Bluetooth syncing (making sure I reboot my iPhone once a week helps. In a bind if nothing works, just pulling the main connector from the passenger fuse panel for 10 secs to reboot the Sync system usually does the trick.)
-limited location options for displaying weather info and no ability to update it to reflect My (desired) Locations (ie - only 6 city options for the 2nd largest state - WY)
-when I can't do something because the truck is in motion (really need to buy the Lockpick or something)

FIXED:
-the mud on the running boards was greatly improved with installation of mud flaps
-speakers seem really good to me. Definitely need to feed it a clean source. 90% of my listening is streaming Bluetooth audio from iPhone running Slacker or Rhapsody. Always sounds better with a buzz on...so it usually sounds awesome!! Fader forward a touch, bass & treble bumped a touch, speed sensitivity pretty high.
-got used to the loud turn signals after about a month...now I don't even notice...still find myself bumping the lane change by accident then hitting the other direction trying to turn it off.
-hard to find tires for serious winter driving on ice. Does OK in snow with the stock tires (not great but OK). Really need studded tires for when conditions get icy here and I'm planning to get the GoodYear Wrangler DuraTracs. 55" of snow forecast for the next 5 days in the mountains...gonna be fun!!!

I have a 2012 Raptor and have the latest Sync software:
Sync VersionGen1 - V4.0.2

I'll try re-booting my phone more often to get around the "Phone Disconnected" issue.

Thanks,
Clyde
