I buy cheap stuff all the time because I don't need a name on it. I just make sure I research first that it fits my needs. Because of this is why I can afford a Raptor. And just because I can afford something doesn't mean I should buy it or overpay for it. So maybe for some people it is better others not necessarily. You can buy cheap without buying crappy as long as it suits your needs in the long term.

Thank you for this.
However if the company is willing to replace the lights and make it right I dont see an issue. Hard to get real life testing for things like these without putting it out there. This is also the guy who is currently making the long awaited fog light shrouds at a reasonable price that everyone cant wait to get their hands on.

And that is reasonable imo and I would be interested in something like this.

With that said some people wont go that 2000th time at least not in this Raptor. For instance if they ever do come out with another Raptor I assume I will have one in 5 years because I likely wont buy the first or second year runs. Take into account I have 3 children and dont get to go out and offroad much. If I am extremley lucky I will use offroad lights six times a year. Times that by 5 years and I will only need to use the lights 30 times. Now do I really need a gaurentee these lights will last for 50,000 hours. Probably not. Lets just say I run them for 8 hours for those 30 days. Still at 240 hours of use. So even if I go extreme not going to happen hypothetical for myself I only need these lights to last for about 1000 hours max outside of rust and corrosion.

I 100% agree with all of these statements.

I think people have to realize there's a huge range. Most of the offroading light manufacturers started out building offroad lights for pro trucks or professional use and expand into public sale. The general public won't run these trucks that hard. And if you're talking $180 vs $450,$600,$1200,$1800, you can definitely afford to take the chance and have the $180 one fail and ramp it to the next level. Unless the 180 has like a 80% failure rate.

I have more Rigid lights than most people on this forum - not bragging, just an addiction of mine (a very unhealthy addiction). I've had moisture problems with my 40" once (which I blame on a 3 hour drive thru a white-out blizzard, at sub-zero temperatures - it was so bad my top speed was 10mph). The warranty service was amazing.

You get what you pay for 95% of the time. My Rigids have taken extreme abuse and the fronts have taken severe blunt force impact with no damage. The cheaper lights might not be as bright as they advertise and probably not last as long, and good luck getting no questions asked warranty repair in less than five days from claim.

Buy what you are comfortable buying - and live with your choice. I think KC and Baja Designs are the other top choices in LED.

I've been looking into a little bar for a while now and after talking with Brandon at TMX today I've decided to go with their own Blackhawk product. They're local guy's, supporting vendors, and ultimately I feel like you just can't beat the peace of mind when you discover top notch warranty and service.

I always giggle at these arguments. What people don't realize is that there is a reason that some claim that such and such Chinese light is a knockoff of Some other "american" light. Sure the lights are assembled in America, but the parts are sourced world wide, and often it is based off the desire of a healthy profit margin that pricing is set, instead of what the actual value of the product is.
It boils down to what does a person want to put on his, or her truck. I can afford to do what ever I want to my truck, and use the products that I want. I can't justify the cost of using stuff like Rigid lights, because I do not believe that the quality of their products justifies the extra cost, if there is any quality at all. Just my personal opinion.

If that $180 light has a healthy profit margin, imagine what its really worth.
