I don't know much about lights but I know I want some. I will not pay for rigid. Just to expensive for a person who doesn't off road as much as I want. I also don't know shit about lights. I was looking at Amazon and saw a 40" tuff stuff led light bar for $180. Is this brand shit or just an off brand. Also wtf is the differance between a spot, flood, diffused, and combo. Like I said I want lights but i don't know anything about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

here, on frf
spot is a narrow beam pattern
flood is a wide beam pattern
diffused means it scatters light in many directions
if you get a combo bar, you can have spot in the middle and flood on the sides. all in one bar. this gives you both long range and short range with one light bar.

as far as quality, check with some of our light vendors here. i guarantee the vendors here will treat you better than amazon or ebay if you were to ever have a warranty issue

Check out DigiDiodes.com for some good light bars and great prices! I'm very happy with my 42" behind the grill and even if it didn't last as long as Rigid you could buy three of them for the price of one rigid. M&R lighting has a really nice fog light set for the front bumper holes.

40" light bars could cost as much as $1300.

There are cheaper Chinese made light bars and I'd expect you could get a decent one for about $300-$400 (guesstimate).

A 40" light bar for $180 sounds like it might be too cheap to warrant putting on your $50,000+ truck but perhaps you only want it for looks :boxed:

You get what you pay for and the LED light bar world is filled with players and posers and pieces of shit.

Some are in the $2k neighborhood (i.e. Vision-X and Baja Designs).

If you think a Rigid Industries light is too expensive, I would look at M&R (from M&R) and Blackhawk (from TMX)... they're both vendors here. Also, check with Ironman from RSiWorks, also a vendor, on the "affordable CREE light bar" that Wilson posted the link to. If you're going to go any cheaper than these options or something similar, I wouldn't even bother as it'll probably be a POS as others have mentioned.

Amen to that. You buy shit you get what you deserve. There is a reason Rigid/X Vision/KC are expensive. They are made to last. You pay high dollar for a Raptor then want to get cheap on lights. Buddy you got the wrong attitude. Save your money till you can afford something worthwhile.:perkinswhatever:

I can see what you guys are saying and in theory makes sense. But so far I haven't heard anything bad about cheaper stuff from anyone who owns it. And if anyone has please point me in that direction because I really would like to know.
