Installed my Bush Company 270XT Max awning on my Leitner ACS TONNEAU rack with an extra load bar. I had to slightly extend the lower mounting holes on the Leitner awning brackets but otherwise everything fit well and there is plenty of clearance to fully open the GearPOD XL. Looking forward to camping season in Florida!

How fast do you have to go before it flies? That's pretty cool, I've never seen something like that before.

270 awnings are gaining popularity. This is one of the bigger ones on the market. Self supporting (no poles) and sets up in under 2 minutes! Not sure I would keep it open in a high wind situation though…

Man I have never seen one like this. SO COOL! Please update us on how it holds up. My plan is to relocate to Florida in the next 18 months and do some beach camping myself. This looks to be a great addition for that!

88 mph? That was my first thought as well. Also want to know if the wings, I mean awning, can deploy at the touch of a button, because that would be a fun party trick too.

It probably only opens with a button if you have it hooked to a flux capacitor pushing 1.21 jigawatts

What made you go with the Bush product over others like 23Zero or SmittyBilt? Love this unit but it is definitely the most expensive.
I bought this awning a couple years ago and ran it on my 3rd Gen 4Runner. I wanted the largest freestanding 270 I could find. It seemed like the perfect addition...that 4Runner is over the top...dual cased, dual lockers, manual transmission, triple sticks, supercharger, headers, armor....etc. It defines excess...so an excessively large/expensive awning was a good fit. No regrets, its awesome! Family outgrew camping and roadtrips in the 4Runner and well I got a better job so the Raptor became a possibility. I wasn't sure the awning would fit well but so far so good....will report more back after the upcoming camping season.

If you are in the Tampa area come check it out! Lots of shade to enjoy a cold beverage.
