installed these lights this morning - dome light, back up light, bed light and map lights.

so - the map lights really suck. I used some flat bladed needle nose pliers that I wrapped sticky side out with electrical tape. they are in there tight and still really didn't want to come out. the electrical tape put residue on the lights as they were still warm, then they stuck to my fingers and I was able to yank them out.

patience, cussing & time on that one.

good question.

since the total cost of the bulbs is like $20 including shipping, I'd say yeah, for the cost it's worth it.

I don't think the dome light is that much brighter, but it is white now. the map lights work quite a bit better.

I'm waiting for dark to see the bed lights but my guess is they are much brighter as are the backup lights. I didn't go for the extra bright backups, but even so they are pretty bright.

if you have a 2012, the instructions for removing the dome light aren't correct, at least I couldn't get it to work that way.

the way to remove it is to remove the entire assembly, there are pinch clips at the back of dome light then it angles down and out. from there you have four push in tabs to remove the cover. you can remove the cover without pulling the assembly, but it is impossible to get it back on without pulling the assembly as you can't get enough pressure to snap the tabs into place.

for the 2012 Scab, here's the info:

I got them from this website:

LED Lights, Bulbs & Accessories - SUPER BRIGHT LEDS

I ordered the following:

Dome Light: 4410-NW9 Natural Light: $4.74 each, need 1
Bed Lights: WLEd-WHP5 Natural Light: $5.75 each, need 2
Map Lights: WLED-NW6 natural Light: $3.74 each, need 2

total: $23.72

if you want to do the backup lights they are

921-NW12 - Natural Light: $5.95 each

these are the exact bulbs I used.

good luck
Peter

They are lights that shine downward from the mirrors to light up puddles when you open the doors.

Our trucks don't have them
