Thanks guys.

RedTail:
I had thought about the tail lights/trailer hitch connection because they are so much easier to get to, but would rather not have them the bed lights on when I have my headlights on.

Vettn:
Opening the cargo light/poking with a meter is what I was thinking too, I was just being lazy and thought maybe somebody else had already done it and would save me the time. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and do it myself :)

I'll post pics when I get it all done. Thanks again for the input.

I have done this mod on my Superduty, but I installed some Walmart off road lights in the bed. I tapped into the dome light wire that ran down the drivers side wiring harness under the scuff plates by the door. You will need a relay. You can also turn your bed lights on with your key fob by opening and locking the doors (which is nice). Here is the write up that I used many years ago. Maybe Ford hasn't changed the wiring colors. Check 12volt.com to see if they have our trucks wiring diagram.

Who knows? he may want to put a switch some place, no right or wrong way to do this mod as long as it meets the requirements of the owner.

The rectangular shaped button below the headlight switch is for the cargo light.

That button is for the dimming of the dash lights for my 2012. I cant find the cargo light. Can someone help me?

You just have to push and hold in the button to make the lights turn on. It will first brighten up all the back lit gauges then it will turn on ur accessory lights. It mite take a couple of seconds for them to turn on.
