Question....on a brand spanking new truck, how soon should we be treating the seats with some sort of leather care/conditioner?

I would wait at least 30 days till it gasses out. Thats that new car smell that leaves in about 30 days. Everything is new in there, plastics, carpet, leather being the main culprit.

All the chemicals etc etc are leaving the products. You would not want to seal all that in there.

Well first the rattles, then the common paint flaws, now the poor quality seats. At least I'll look good comming down the road in it. haha

I have been using chemical guys cleaner and conditioner. Seems to do the trick. Apply both with microfibers for best results.

Optimum makes a great leather conditioner that leaves a non slippery satin finish. Far better then any other products I've used before.

The leather of most new cars needs no conditioning. It's basically sealed almost painted and a conditioner will just sit on the top and can make it greasy. All you need to do is keep the clean. A well rung out damp towel works well. Just to clean off surface dust, they shouldn't get wet. Adams makes a good interior detailer which works well, leaves a matte look and doesn't leave a shiny residue. I personally hate shiny leather seats and prefer a matte look.

Yeah, I second the matte finish. I will say, though, that the Adam's Interior Cleaner is great at removing some stubborn dirt and grime that water won't remove easily. I don't like 'scrubbing' this leather, as the color will start to come off. The Interior Cleaner makes crappy stuff come right off without scrubbing. Although our headliners are black, I have used it on lighter colors and it removes stains, like grease, easily. Adam's leather conditioner does a great job, too, but I do go back over it with a dry towel to make sure it maintains that matte finish......
