I understand it just fine. You already had your back and forth with someone else on this thread and I'm not about to do the same with you. If you cant provide the info I requested, then please dont respond by suggesting I dont understand leasing.

Generally, if you don't have a great grasp on things then you should avoid them. But suit yourself, (or your cousin in this case)

The money factor at the time was 0.00142

There you go! Now you should be all set to give your cousin great advice!

And the other member who didn't understand leasing thought that you had to lease the vehicle thru the maker. (CLEARLY does not understand leasing)

And you wanting to know what the money factor was that I got from a single bank months ago tells me the same about you. Argue all you want, but it's really irrefutable.

Oh, hey new guy.

If someone has to lease a vehicle because the payments are cheaper and can't afford the outright payments, it's a bad decision.

:flipthebird:

You said if payment is even a consideration they shouldn't even look at the raptor .... why ?? Maybe they want to upgrade in two years...maybe they bought into sasquatch rhetoric and will upgrade .... maybe they don't want to drop 65k cash on a truck and prefer pay over time because they get a dirt cheap interest rate..... there's a million reason someone may go this route... I guess you payed cash for your truck and house and have no mortgage ... or else you yourself are making payments on something you couldn't afford.

I wouldn't lease a vehicle that I couldn't afford to buy with regular payments. If my budget is that tight, I'm shopping the wrong vehicle.

Bye.

Nor would I but if I was knew was getting rid of the truck in two years someone might see that has option... but due to the overall value staying high you probably still make out in the long run if purchase the truck then trade it in in two years

I'm not sure this applies to OP's situation, but there are a lot of advantages to leasing if the truck is used for business purposes.

The entire lease payment is deductible. Principal payments on loans are not deductible.

One of the ideas being talked about in the Republican's tax reform is eliminating the deductibility of interest expense. I doubt that passes, but if it does it would make zero business sense to purchase anything and the leasing industry will explode.

If a business is growing at 30% and the owner is putting all his money back into the business, he will be a lot wealthier if he invests the difference back into growing his business.

Many people lease for the tax benefits of business expense (ask me how I know). Wr currently have two Tundras leased through business and looking to replace one with a Raptor. Has nothing at all to do with affordability or monthly payment.

When someone leases a Raptor, is it based on MSRP, or is there an ADM associated with that too? Leasing makes sense on one of these, but no way to tell what value will be when it comes time to turn in or buy out.

Residuals are based on MSRP.

It's based on the negotiated sell price. So yes, ADM could affect the monthly payment.
