I thought I had noticed some drops one day but shrugged it off as I had been detailing the girlfriends car and assumed it was just spilled product.

Today I crawled under the truck and found the rear drivers side leaking fluid at the reservoir. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Thoughts on whether warranty will cover a rebuild vs. replacement?

My passenger rear was leaking from day 1 and it was replaced under warranty. It did take a few weeks to come in because they had to get it from Fox, but all good now. My leak came from the part of the shock where the live wire attaches. I posted a thread on it with pictures.

I’ve had, and will continue to have, long work hours through July... so, I called and asked if it would be possible to get the shock ordered prior to me bringing the truck in for service.

I was told the shock is on indefinite back order and will cost $1488.00 with no estimated shipping window. I politely reminded him again that this truck was purchased a month ago and has less than 600 miles on it. None of which were off road.

“Ummm.... I will have to speak to a manager Monday and see what we can do for you.”

I’m hoping his response was simply due to my request to have the part on hand in hope of me saving a vacation day. An answer of “no” to that is fine. Anyone wish to take bets on whether I receive a call on Monday as promised? Lol.

You should keep an eye out for someone who has taken one of the shocks off the truck if ford is being dancey. perhaps call RPG and see if they have any at the shop on the cheap. I believe they were the first to start offering the module to plug into a 19 when swapping the live valves out. Id guess they might be able to turn you on to someone looking to sell the factory stuff if they dont have anything at the shop.

I scheduled my repair for today at 8:45am. After 1.5 hours of sitting in the waiting room, walking the lot, and eating free cookies, I am told they didn’t actually have the part and the service advisor doesn’t know where the communication break down occurred.

I think they had the truck on the lift and possibly removed the tire before the realization was made. Lol

I had zip tied a cash tip to the shock body for the tech working on it. I didn’t get angry with the advisor or push for better service. I simply reached into the wheel well and pulled the bill from the backside of the shock. He seemed surprised that I did that and relieved to not get yelled at.

I’ll be happy to have a fully functioning shock with damping again.
