Lead Frame Recall 06-14-2024

Mine was just reprogrammed to NOT drop down to 1st gear immediately. When I got it back the shifting was a little wonky until it "relearned" how I drive it. Been good since then.

Yours is the regular 6.2L and not Supercharged,correct...?

This is currently occurring on my 2012 (just rolled over into 100K)!! Brought into Ford accurately diagnosed as Lead Frame Recall, however not eligible for any assistance and $1,700 Repair (that I don't have right now) 3-5 days time.. IDK what to do, it locked up on me traveling 45 in the snow (I slid thankfully) and had happened 2 other times (at lower speeds around 30) all of which has been in cold weather as transmission is warming up.

The safety part of the recall is the reprogram that prevents the unintended downshift from loss of OSS signal.

They also offered extended lead frame coverage as part of a customer satisfaction program, but I’m assuming that’s expired now.

Exactly what FordTechOne said. I remember having a recall performed on my truck yrs ago. But last yr at 190k miles the Lead Frame crapped out. It DID NOT Lick up on me from a down shift into 1st. Instead it went down into 3rd and I was able to limp it to the dealership. Still was scary though. 1st a big yellow wrench appeared on the screen then the speedometer went to 0 then down shifted to 3rd. My foot was already off the gas pedal and started to move into slower lane when the Big Yellow Wrench appeared so it wasn't a sudden down shift. There were some warning signs before the complete failure when I look back at. There was weird shifting characteristics before the failure happened. The new molded lead frame that gets installed has a foam type filter on or around the Contacts for the shifting solenoids preventing small metal particles debris that build up over time causing them to Short out
